새 교육과정에 의한 한국과 일본 중학교 과학교과서 중 생물영역의 실험 및 관찰에 대한 비교연구 = A Comparative Study on the Experiment and Observation in the Biological Course of the New Science Textbook of the Middle School in Korea and Japan
This present work was undertaken to obtain data for developing an ideal middle school biology curriculum in Korea. In the recent editions of fifteen Korean and four japanese science textbook of middle school, the content of experiment and observation was analyzed and compared each other.
The number of times of experiment and observation is total 36.8 in Korean science textbooks and 15.6 in japanese, respectively. Even though Japanese science textbooks have fewer frequency than Korean, it present a research problems to solve by oneself. The common subjects of experimental application in both countries science textbook are 11 items.
The material organism which are used in the experiment and observation are total 68 and 41 species in Korean and Japanes, respectively. And the species of material organism with the highest frequency of application are appeared waterweed, onion, frog, hydrilla, crucian carp and peach tree in the Korean science textbooks, and hydrilla, man, butterfly and tradescantia in the Japanes. The common material organisms used in both countries are 21 species.
The total 85 and 59 kinds of instruments are used in Korean and Japanes science textbook respetively. While the using frequency order of the instrument in the Korean science textbook are microscope, slide and cover glass, spoid, petridish, test tube, pincette and beaker, in the Japanese are microscope, slide glass, cover glass, pincette, spoid, test tube, beaker, lupe and alchol lamp. The common instruments used in both countries are 41 kinds.
The kind of chemical are total 34 and the most frequently used chemicals are found to be acetocarmine, potassium iodide solution, methylene blue and ethanol in the Korean science textbook. However, in the Japanese science textbooks, a total 14 kinds chemicals are used and the order of frequency in use are starch solution, iodide solution, BTB solution and sugar solution. The common chemicals used in both countries are 8 kinds.
