코로나19로 인한 교수법 변화: 테크노스트레스와 테크놀로지 수용 성향에 따른 교수자 유형 분석 = Changes in Teaching Methods during COVID-19: Types of Instructors According to Technostress and Technology Acceptance Propensity
Purpose: This study explored how instructors’ technostress and technology acceptance propensity affected their choices of teaching methods in the transition from traditional to online classes in university due to Covid-19. Method: For the purpose of this study, we analyzed 251 instructors’ responses who participated in the survey conducted by the Center for Teaching and Learning in a university. The major teaching methods applied in the classes were categorized and compared to the changes before and after COVID-19. Results: The results revealed that “lecture-based teaching” and “problem-based learning” were consistently utilized frequently even right after COVID-19 while the “mixture of lecture-based learning and question-based teaching” was increased. Also, “project-based learning” was replaced with other diverse activities to achieve the goal of instruction. This study further conducted a clustering analysis based on instructors’ technostress and technology acceptance propensity. A LAMP model was developed and categorized the instructors into Leading, Active, Moderate, and Passive groups. Although there was no significant difference in the choice of teaching methods by each group of the instructors, it was found that L and A groups who were active in accepting technology planned more synchronous learning for the second semester, just after running non-face-to-face classes for the first semester in 2020. Conclusion: While instructors revealed their changed perception on the important elements for a successful classroom, knowledge and skills related to the use of technology were more importantly perceived. The more favorable and active for the use of technology, the more positive intentions were expressed for online learning in the future. Lastly this study discussed the need for customized faculty development programs according to different instructor groups based on their technostress and technology acceptance propensity.
