Despite the increase of organic agricultural product's production and consumption, the consumption of organic products must be extended through the eco-friendly lifestyle changes for the prevalence of environment-friendly agricultural products.
Recently, environment-friendly agricultural product consumption tendency have been activated for their family health. However, many consumers are still distrust about their price, reliability, differentiation, purchasing place, and so on.
Accordingly, for the maintenance of preservation of natural environment and environment-friendly agriculture, positive green-consumer consciousness, which
is about more active purchase of environment-friendly agricultural products make our health maintain, is needed.
The consumers lack the understanding and trust of environment-friendly agricultural products because they don’t realize the fact that the values of them usually come from their cultivated and productive process. Therefore, all informations that come from the productive stage of products must be passed to the consumers for the consumers’ understanding and sympathy about products. For this procedure, Organic Edu-Farm(OEF) program, which makes this procedure educated and organized, have been
developed. Now, many types of programs have been developed and widely used.
In this study, I analyzed the preliminary study that was done about the consumers’ attitude changes for the promotion of consumption and organic consumption extension. And also, I managed the OEF program for helping the consumers understanding about the environment-friendly agriculture. The OEF program that I managed was included in many activities, such as field experience of environment-friendly agricultural products, processing of agricultural products, lectures about foods & our bodies, field experience in rural culture and mini-concert with a mastersinger. Finally, the results, which were processed by participants’ survey, have been analyzed.
The result of participants’ satisfaction has revealed that 95% for them was satisfied (included in 77.6% and 19.9% in very satisfaction and satisfaction, respectively).
In detailed contents satisfaction, it was shown that 87.4% in a field experience of environment-friendly agricultural products, 82% in lectures about foods & our bodies, making organic pickled vegetables & traditional Hanji, 70% in food story from farmer & mini-concert with a mastersinger and in 57.3% in field experience in Damyang rural culture, respectively.
In the same program that was conducted in 2012 and 2013, the average satisfaction was shown that 67.8% and 77.6% of the whole participants were very satisfied, 29.7% and 17.4% of them were satisfied, respectively in each year.
Especially, among the contents, the participants showed higher interest in the organic products field experience activity, which is directly related to them. Otherwise, they were less interested in processing of agricultural products and rural culture activities.
The program in 2013 was generally more satisfactory than that in 2012. Especially, the programs, such as traditional Hanji, making organic pickled vegetables, mini-concert with a mastersinger, were shown much more interested as a value of 10 ~ 20%.
From the study on the participants’ satisfaction in accordance with each season, we found that it was higher in spring than in fall. It was believed that
this was caused by temporal climatic environmental and crop growth environmental differences.
As a result of survey about the interest of agriculture and farming before and after education, the value of ‘very satisfaction’ was shown that 7.4% and 77.8% in before and after education. Otherwise, the value of ‘good’ was shown that 55.2% and 0.5% in before and after education. It was considered that the altitude was intensively changed before and after the education. Furthermore, perception in the importance of agriculture and farming was changed as values of 49.2% in healthy foods, 29.4% in understanding about the agricultural and farming values, 11.0% in concerning of return to rural and farming and 10.4% in family new traveling places, respectively.
Finally, in the study of expected consumption, which was done after finishing the field experience, additional consumption from participants was increased, compared with before the experience (from 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% increased to 14%, 40%, 30%, 10% and 6%, respectively).
Therefore, we concluded that the consumers have responded positively and actively to changing of lifestyle attitude, understanding about agricultural & farming values, and consumption of organic products by OEF program.
