한·중·일 제2언어 학습자의 자기주도적 학습전략 비교연구
Oxford (1990) stated that learning strategies are a way for learners to acquire knowledge and specific actions that are taken independently, effectively, and quickly. Even if a good learning environment is provided, it will not be successful if the learners do not learn by themselves. Successfully overcoming the difficulties of language learning will also depend on how learners are aware of their abilities and transform a mistake into a learning experience. Researching from the successful learners confirmed that, the learners used diverse and effective strategies to improve your second language. The success or failure of learning a second language suggests that the importance of learning strategies has an enormous influence.
This study is targeted at people who are studying a second language in China and Japan which are active in economic and human exchange with Korea. Also, the purpose of this research is to establish the relevance of academic achievement by determining the most preferred strategies for learners from three countries based on their different cultures. As a result of comparing the learning strategies used by learners of Korea, China, and Japan for the acquisition of the second language, it was confirmed that the learners utilize the cognitive strategy including 14, 17, and 14 sub-strategies, respectively. In particular, the Chinese learners are used by the 17 cognitive strategies including 'Repetition' and 'Learning a voice' which are not found in the tactics of Korea and Japan. In addition, the Chinese learners were using lower social justice strategies, compensation strategies, and higher cognitive strategies.
Furthermore, the results of the learning strategies commonly used by the learners of Korea, China, and Japan for the acquisition of the second language are analyzed as follows. First, there were 11 strategies for learning strategies commonly used by three countries learners. Among them, the strategies that showed the greatest difference in the number of users were 'Memorizing', 'Reading out loud', and 'Listening to music'. Second, the cognitive strategy was the most commonly used for these countries learners. however, the compensation strategy was not used at all by Korean, Chinese, and Japanese learners. This shows three countries learners prefer a biased learning strategy regardless of the educational environment or gender. Thus, the bias of such a learning strategy suggests that it can affect academic achievement in some way. Third, the type of strategy used to acquire the second language was that the Chinese learners were using more diverse learning strategies than the Korean and Japanese learners. 19 Korean learners and 3 Japanese learners answered "Do not use learning strategies at all" and that there was nobody learned Chinese learners. Therefore, awareness of the necessity of learning strategies is much higher for Chinese learners than Korean and Japanese learners. It is necessary to clarify the relationship between academic achievement and learning strategies applied to the learners in the actual education field, which were investigated that the second language learners of Korea, China, and Japan were commonly preferred as a second one. In this part, the authors found that it is necessary to clarify the relationship between academic achievement and learning strategies applied to the learners in the actual education field, which were investigated by the second language learners of Korea, China, and Japan as common preferences. In order to solve these questions and to generalize the above results, we applied 7 representative learning strategies to Korean learners who learn Japanese in a second language. The analysis of the results obtained how the learning strategies can affect the academic achievement.
First, as a result of analyzing the correlation between learning strategy and academic achievement most preferred by Korean learners, the memorization strategy showed the highest correlation with the average (87.97) and the standard deviation (6.71). This seems to be due to the fact that Koreas second language education is focusing on handwriting test.
Second, we investigated 22 Japanese learner's students to apply 7 representative strategies and analyzed the relationship between the academic achievement and the strategies by two experiments. In the above results, the average of the secondary results (76.69) was lower than the average of the primary results (78.12), but the standard deviation showed that the standard deviation of the secondary (11.17) was lower than that of the primary (12.83). This means that students' grades are more evenly distributed in the second experiment test.
Third, the first average (80.41) was higher than the second average (78.82) for men, whereas the first average (75.69) was lower than the second average (77.05) for women in the test average and standard deviation according to gender. However, in the standard deviation results, both male learners (1st: 10.14, 2nd: 10.07) and female learners (1st: 13.78, 2nd: 11.51) values were lower standard deviation results in the second times. These results of the standard deviation suggested that the learning strategies education affects academic achievement.
Fourth, in order to investigate the changes in the average and standard deviation of the first and second test, we examined the distribution of use by each learner in the first and second experiments. In this result, the frequency of 'Repetition (1st: 3.68, 2nd: 4.18)' was the highest, followed by 'Memorizing (1st: 4.14, 2nd: 4.27)' and 'Listening and Concentrating (1st: 4.09, 2nd: 4.18)'.
Fifth, multiple regression analysis was conducted through the E-Views program to accurately determine the effect of each learning strategy on academic achievement through the 1st and 2nd education. As a result, it was investigated that the strategies of 'Memorizing (R:0.52, A:0.49, R:10.04)' in the first education and 'Using the media (R:0.12, A:0.07, U:3.57)' in the second education were most effective.
Sixth, according to the questionnaire survey "Were the Seven strategies helpful in learning languages other than Japanese?" the 14 people were answered the most helpful, the 5 people were very helpful, and the only 3 people were answered 'normal'. Positive responses accounted for 86% of 22 respondents. Among the total 22 respondents, 86% of respondents answered positively. This can be regarded as a result of verifying the relationship between the second language learning and the learning strategy regardless of the kind of language such as English, Chinese, and French as well as Japanese.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the learning strategies for the second language learning and the academic achievement according to the use of the second language learners such as Korea, China, and Japan. These study will provide valuable information about learning strategies and outcomes to learners who are struggling throughout the second language learners of the present and future.
