There exists a goal for any kinds of organization. To reach their goal effectively, there should be an excellent leader. With no exception of military organization, there should be an excellent leader because military organization has a significant goal to defend the country.
Generally, leadership can be defined as the behaviour of a leader to participate and coordinate group members to achieve the goal of the group effectively
The concept of leadership in military word can be used as follows : "Leadership is used by special man's class or job to carry out the mission with subordinates and it is given from the country or group in divine authority".
The study on leadership takes the various approaches in accordance with analyzer's view.
Taking the matter of a leadership for achieving a goal of group into an account (including the personalities or traits of leaders and group members), contingency theory can be the most valid and valuable approach.
Factors which can influence military leadership are as follows : In case of the military organization there are also characters of military organization. That is, new changes in its organization and influences of foreign army-there are Japanese thought, despotic leadership while our military organization was under their control and democracy, materialism of the U. S. Army. The modern society has changed military organization into western style.
There are four major countries around Dorean Peninsula and North Korea is increasing weapons, Military organization is still changing with organizers' creativities in controlling it. As the point of view between the commanders and subordinates is changing, the conflict between them will be likely to occur
Next, the following is the fundamental framework of contents attempted by the study.
Chapter one provides the introduction of the study, comprising the purpose, method, scope, and limitations of it.
Chapter two describes analytic consideration of leadership theories. It is classified by concepts of leadership and approaches to leadership study.
Chapter three presents factors forming leadership of military organization in Korea, and new changes of it.
Chapter four considers some direction for the promotion of leadership effectiveness in Korean military organization.
Chapter five shows concluding remarks.
To promote the effectiveness of leadership in Korean military organization, I have firstly analysed the general theories of leadership.
After doing them, modern leadership approaches were applied for the purpose of achieving goal of the study. The various environment surrounding military organization in Korea is rapidly changing.
As viewed from the surroundings, Korean military organization needs new changes which have never experienced. To illustrate, leaders in military organization also, need an adaptive thinking than ever, with thoughts of young people newly entering military organization changing.
Considering these situation factors, I present four effective ways which leaders should recognize.
First, a leader should have good morality which is requested by military organization.
Besides, he should have not only speciality in his field but also the responsibility that his job should keep the nation, country and people from outsider invaders.
Second, a leader should have reliable confidence in human relationship.
This healthy human relationship is needed in military life and will make servicemen cooperate each other.
Third, a leader should develop subordinates' potentialities as well as his character in order to reach the organization's goal.
Leadership can be effective only when the leader's ability is better than his subordinates'.
Accordingly the leader should put all his effort in developing his potential ability.
Subordinates should also develop his potentialities by learning and training
Lastly, considering the situation and subordinates's leader should make an effort to reach his goal maximally.
This study should be developed continually with its method in the further study.
