음원분리를 위한 FDICA 기법에서 가중내적 제한조건을 이용한 수렴특성 개선 = Improvement of Convergence Speed Using Weighted Inner Product Constraints in FDICA for Separation of Speech Mixtures
ICA (Independent Component Analysis) is one of BSS(Blind Source Separation) methods that can separate source signals from mixtures with the assumption that source signals are statistically independent. Since speech signals in a real environment are typically obtained as convolutive mixtures, a basic linear instantaneous ICA model cannot be used directly. Thus, generally, convolutive mixtures are converted into instantaneous mixtures by transforming the signals into time-frequency domain. This approach is called an FDICA(Frequency Domain ICA). But FDICA approaches suffer from ambiguity of frequency bin permutation that is one of unavoidable problems in basic ICA approaches. In addition, most of FDICA approaches usually take a lot of time for calculation because they deal with complex variables and a number of iteration is needed to converge in a gradient descent algorithm.
In this thesis, we propose a new method that can improve the convergence speed in FDICA approaches without degradation of signal separation performance. By analyzing general FDICA approaches such as Sawada FDICA, IVA(Independent Vector Analysis), subband IVA and Nesta FDICA, we have shown that main part of them can be represented as a Hadamard product form of the matrix. By employing a weighted inner product constraints in it, and then, we could reduce the number of iteration sharply in the updating process of the gradient algorithm. We also have proven that the convergence is guaranteed in our approach by using the majorization minimization theorem.
To validate the proposed method, we have done signal separation experiments for convolutive mixtures of 2-channel speech signals using Sawada FDICA, IVA, subband IVA and Nesta FDICA in various environments like no reverberation case, simulated reverberation environment with RT60=0.10sec and 0.15sec, real environment with Aachen impulse response having average RT60=0.12sec. In case of Sawada FDICA, frequency bin permutation problem was fixed by post-processing method we realized using the power ratio of separated signals. Experimental results have demonstrated that our proposed method have achieved a sharp reduction in the number of iteration in the updating process of the gradient algorithm to improve the convergence speed without loss of signal separation performance.
