The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of the satisfaction of children physical educators in different types of children educational institutions that have currently commissioned the children physical education system. This research has been conducted by in total 100 physical education teachers in the randomly selected public, private childcare centers located in Daejoen city where they have implemented the commissioned children physical education. The method of this survey has been based on the questionnaires used by Sungjun Kim (2008), Haewon Lee (2004), and Jonghun Han (2008) and revised simultaneously by analysis of the recent research. Additionally, the study has shown a reliability analysis to verify the degree of reliability using Window Korean SPSS Ver. 12.0, and a frequency analysis to figure out demographic characteristics using the frequency (N) and percentage (%) to be calculated. Moreover, the findings have been produced by frequency analysis and One Away ANOVA so as to evaluate the satisfaction of children physical education, according to variables for demographic factors and for commissioned children physical institutions and class management. Furthermore, LSD post-testing method was applied for verifying a margin between average levels of groups, in case of making a narrow margin after implementation of One Way ANOVA.
1. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the educators’ position.
When it comes to educators’ position, the head of the Physical department had the greatest awareness of the children physical education as a regular curriculum while a director of a childcare did not. This result was evaluated by the level of awareness of the importance of the children physical education, depending on the educators’ position.
2. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in a teacher in charge of his or her children.
A teacher in charge of their children was highly concerned about the children physical education needs, and therefore the satisfaction of the commissioned physical education system presented higher above average by the teacher in charge of his or her class. In addition, the teacher who was in charge of the children was greatly satisfied with the commissioned children physical education taking advantage of educational facilities and tools. However, the physical teacher who was not in charge of the children seemed to be highly satisfied with the use of educational tools in the class. Moreover, the teacher in charge of the class was more satisfied with general safety and service during physical classes, but it did not make much difference between the teacher in charge and that not in charges.
3. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the number of children in a class.
In discussion of the number of children in a class, a teachers felt that parents were the most highly interested in the children physical education in a class with less than 30 children, and then in one with less than 20, more than 30, and less than 10. In addition, the satisfaction of the teachers in the physical education programs was the highest in a class with less than 30 children, and then less than 20, less than 10, and less 30 children. The satisfaction of the teachers in the physical education progress was also the highest in a class with less than 30 children, however, the lowest in a class with over 30. Besides, the teachers with less than 30 children showed the highest satisfaction of the involvement of parents in physical education programs. Furthermore, the teachers with less than 30 children were the most satisfied with the class management including the number of physical class per week while the teachers with less than 10 were the most disappointed with the number of class.
4. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the experienced educators.
The educators’ experience affected the satisfaction of the teachers in physical programs. In the view of the physical development of children in the classroom, teachers with less than one year experience were the most satisfied whereas less than 5 to 7 experienced teachers are the lowest. The physical education programs were well designed with less than one year experienced teachers better than with less than 5 to 7. Additionally, the experienced teachers with less than one year showed the highest satisfaction for physical facilities and equipment, however, the experienced teachers under 10 year were the highest satisfied with the use of physical equipment. And experienced teachers with less than one year were the highest satisfactory for the safety of the facilities to ensure safety in physical education classes. Besides, teachers under 10 years of experience were the most qualified with using a variety of educational methods and with teaching children in consideration of individual differences in the class. Teachers over 10 years of experience respectively showed high satisfaction in the usage of language for the appropriate level of children.
5. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the educators’ age.
According to the survey on the educators’ age concerning the children physical class management, the teachers in the 20s were the most satisfactory with the number of physical education classes per week while those in the 40s showed the lowest satisfaction. Similarly, the satisfaction of the physical facilities and equipment was the highest in the 20s and the lowest in the 40s in relation to the physical development of children. The satisfaction of the physical programs according to the age also hold similar trend above.
6. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the form of educational institutions.
As discussed with the form of educational institutions, private childcare centers were significantly recognized with the needs of children physical education whereas public childcare centers were less concerned. Moreover, the satisfaction of children physical education fees was the highest in the private childcare, but the lowest in the public childcare. There was the highest number of physical classes per week and lesson times per day in the private childcare but lowest in the public childcare. Much more children in the private childcare were interested in the physical class than those in the public childcare. However, the number of physical facilities and educational supplies met by the number of the children was the highest satisfactory in the social welfare childcare. Also, the most effective physical class management regarding the individual differences between children was performed in the social welfare childcare. Most parents in the private childcare were highly involved in the children physical activity. Above all, the satisfaction of the needs of the children physical education and class management was the highest in the private childcare, that of the physical facilities or teachers was the highest in the social welfare childcare, but the public childcare presented the lowest satisfaction as a whole. Indeed, even better supports and well-organized physical education curriculum should be considered to improve the quality of the public childcare education.
7. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the number of classes per week.
Although one physical class per week showed the highest satisfaction in the childcare as observed by frequency data, twice for one week was the most in average. The satisfaction of the children physical class management also had same trend.
8. The satisfaction of commissioned children physical education and class management in the lesson times per day.
Taken all together above, there was no significant difference to the satisfaction of the lesson times per day.
As discussed above, there are such significant factors which influence the satisfaction of the commissioned children physical education such as class management, programs, facilities, tools, safety, teachers, and services. In order to meet the needs of commissioned children physical education system and improve the children physical environment, the problems concerning the current education system should be revaluated, and children education institutions should pay further attention to well-organized physical education curriculum.
