(Abstract)
This research aimed at investigating the difference in leisure motivation, leisure commitment, leisure satisfaction, mental well-being along with water leisure sports participants' demographic characteristics, in Daegu ․ Gyeongbuk region, and studied the causal relationship of their leisure motivation on leisure commitment, leisure satisfaction and mental well-being. Also, with the research result, the researcher aimed at providing necessary theoretical basis for the importance of water leisure sports participants' leisure experience and basic material for heightening satisfaction of personal physical, mental health and life satisfaction, and revitalizing water leisure sports in future.
For this, extracted random samples by using convenience sampling, which is one of nonrandom sampling method, after selecting the members of water leisure sports participants as a population, who were actively engaged in Daegu·Gyeongbuk region currently in July, 2013. As the number of sampling, 100 per each were sampled, considering region type(Gimcheon, Gumi, Daegu, Andong). Among the collected questionnaires, the number of total examples utilized for the final analysis was 389, excluding inappropriate material for research data, e.g. omission, obscurity, double recording, deflective recording, etc.
Through the above research method and procedure, this research deduced the results as follows.
First, demographic characteristics influenced leisure motivation, leisure commitment, leisure satisfaction and mental well-being. That is, with regard to leisure motivation, windsurfing participants' internal motivation appeared highest among the items, and the 3~4 years of participation duration appeared highest. Leisure commitment appeared highest behavioral commitment in the participants of 40s, with regard to age, and difference appeared in cognitive commitment and behavioral commitment along with participation degree. With regard to participation hours, cognitive commitment appeared highest when participating over 4 hours and behavioral commitment appeared highest when participating over 5 hours, and participation frequency appeared highest when participation of cognitive commitment and behavioral commitment was over 4 hours.
With regard to leisure satisfaction, the male appeared higher in the environmental satisfaction than the female, and with regard to age, 20s appeared higher in the environmental satisfaction. With regard to items, windsurfing displayed highest satisfaction in mental ․ physiological ․ environmental satisfaction, and a meaningful difference appeared in leisure satisfaction along with participation degree. Mental satisfaction appeared the highest in the participation period of 2~3 years, and regarding participation hours, 4 years appeared highest, and regarding participation frequency, appeared the highest in 4 times a week. Educational satisfaction appeared highest between 3~4 years, regarding participation period, and highest in participation hours of 4 hours. Social satisfaction appeared highest when participation hours was over 5 hours, and highest in 5 times a week regarding participation frequency. Relaxing satisfaction appeared highest between 2~3 years, with regard to participation period, also, highest in participation hours of 4 hours, and highest in participation frequency of 4 times a week. Physiological satisfaction appeared highest in over 5 hours, regarding participation hours, and regarding participation frequency, 3 times a week appeared highest. Environmental satisfaction appeared highest in 3 times a week regarding participation frequency.
Mental well-being appeared highest in the age of 40s, with regard to goal of life, and with regard to the items of sports, windsurfing participants appeared highest in the goal of life. And appeared highest when participation period was 1~3 years, and cognition on mental well-being appeared highest when participation hours of 2 hours, regarding participation frequency, and when participating 4 times a week, regarding goal of life, personal growth, and autonomy. However, no meaningful difference appeared in positive personal relations and the gender.
Second, leisure motivation appeared to influence both cognitive commitment and behavioral commitment, which were sub factors of leisure commitment. Particularly, the biggest influence factor of cognitive commitment appeared to be internal motivation, and the biggest influence factor of behavioral commitment appeared to be external motive. And leisure motivation appeared to influence all sub factors of leisure satisfaction, e.g. psychological ․ educational ․ social ․ relaxing ․ physiological ․ environmental satisfaction. Particularly, the biggest influence factor of psychological ․ educational ․ relaxing ․ physiological ․ environmental satisfaction appeared to be internal motivation among leisure motivation, and the biggest influence factor on social satisfaction appeared to be external motive.
Third, leisure commitment appeared to have meaningful influence overall psychological ․ educational ․ social ․ relaxing ․ physiological ․ environmental satisfaction, which were sub factors of leisure satisfaction. Concretely, among leisure commitment, the biggest influence factor on psychological ․ relaxing ․ physiological ․ environmental satisfaction among leisure commitment appeared to be cognitive commitment, and the biggest influence factor on educational ․ social satisfaction appeared to be behavioral commitment. Leisure commitment was confirmed to influence overall self-acceptance, positive personal relations, goal of life, personal growth, and autonomy meaningfully, which were sub factors of mental well-being. Concretely, the biggest influence factor on self-acceptance, positive personal relations, personal growth, and autonomy among leisure commitment appeared to be cognitive commitment, and the biggest influence factor on the goal of life appeared to be behavioral commitment.
Fourth, leisure satisfaction appeared to influence meaningfully on mental well-being. Among the sub factors of leisure satisfaction, psychological satisfaction, educational satisfaction, social satisfaction and environmental satisfaction appeared to influence self-acceptance affirmatively (+). Among them, the biggest influence factor on self-acceptance was confirmed to be educational satisfaction.
Among the sub factors of leisure satisfaction, educational satisfaction, social satisfaction, and physiological satisfaction appeared to influence positive personal relations affirmatively (+). Among them, the biggest influence factor on positive personal relations was confirmed to be educational satisfaction.
Among the sub factors of leisure satisfaction, educational satisfaction and social satisfaction appeared to influence the goal of life affirmatively(+). Among them, the biggest influence factor on the goal of life was confirmed to be educational satisfaction. Among the sub factors of leisure satisfaction, physiological satisfaction and environmental satisfaction appeared to influence personal growth affirmatively (+). Among them, the biggest influence factor on personal growth was confirmed to be physiological satisfaction.
Among the sub factors of leisure satisfaction, educational satisfaction, social satisfaction, physiological satisfaction and environmental satisfaction appeared to influence autonomy affirmatively (+). Among them, the biggest influence factor on autonomy was confirmed to be educational satisfaction.
Fifth, leisure motivation influenced leisure commitment, leisure satisfaction and mental well-being directly ․ indirectly. Particularly, leisure commitment and leisure satisfaction were deduced to be important mediator variables which connect the relation between leisure motivation and mental well-being.
