The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of circulatory functions on the immersion and swimming movement. The skin temperature of eight-three male college students were measured continuously by Electro-Thermometer, and Continuous Systolic Monitor was used for the measurement of pulse rate and systolic blood pressure. All of the subjects were followed a series of experiment for the period of eight minutes.Based on the preceding data and discussion of it, the following conclusions and recommendations in health administration seem justified:1. Pulse rate was decreased with a sudden drop of skin temperature immediately after immersion. Although there were recognizable deviations on fluctuation of pulse rates it was non. significant among the variables.Through this experiment the auther wishes to emphasize that it would be more important to remind the sudden increase systolic blood pressure in addition to the fluctuation of pulse rate that occurred during the swimming.2. Systolic blood pressure was fluctuated with immersion, and suddenly increased with beginning of the swimming. Since several factors were involved in the physiological phenomena of blood pressure fluctuation. it was almostimpossible to figure out the exact valures that affact the physiological phenmena. In this experiment, therefore, the fluctuation phenomena were specified as three categories such as Dullness type, Severance type and Plateau type. with these specifications, the 44.4 percent of traied swimmer belonged to Dullness type, and the 50.0 percent of non-trained belonged to plateau type. In addition, more slight fluctuation and rapid recovery were noted the former type with compare to those from the later type.Especially, on the person who are nonconditioned or indispositioned in circulatory system the swimming would be dangerous because of sudden increase of systolic blood pressure that followed by sudden drop of skin temperature.3. Systolic blood pressure greatly affacted with differences between ambient and water temperature and the intensity of warming up and swimming.
