대안교육과의 접목을 통한 공교육 개선방안에 관한 연구 = A Study on the improvement plan of a public education through combining with Alternative Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The issue on a crisis of a public education has been raised for a long time. Although many and diverse improvement plans had been proposed for years, the educational environment hasn't improved fundamental problems remain unsolved.
The education which has been focused an uniform education, by way of example, an education centered on entrance examination, has drawn many problems by not being able to accommodate the diverse demands from education service users in an information-oriented society with great changes.
In addition, public education under the principle of competition, which is training students to see classmates as their competitors for an entrance into leading university of Korea, not as companions of their lives.
The movement of the alternative school came from this reflection. and originated in criticism of the uniform system of public education.
It has centered on education which has been neglected by public education, for example, 'education for the whole man', 'ecology education', important to the needs and character of each learner and to the cooperation and harmony of man to man and man to nature.
After ten years, not a few alternative schools have gotten authorized as an accredited school and settled well into the educational circles as a type of autonomous school.
Many people agree that our public school curriculum needs to be changed
In this sense, For the purpose of improving theoretically centered public education curriculums, This study asserts that public education must actively accept merits and diverse curriculums of alternative education to improve it's problem, and also analyzes the causes and the types of public school crisis, and alternative school's status, character, problems, and prospects.
In the concrete ways to approach that, Each subject should introduce alternative education's contents which are applicable, For effective operation and integrated procedure, a high priority is placed to Ethical subject and combine with Alternative Education centered on it. because the goal of alternative education is linked up with personality education,
In 2008, In Korean public education circles, Open Autonomous School system is under testing. this system combines the autonomy and diversity of alternative education to the public education which has features of stiffness and uniformity.
Going forward, Open Autonomous School system will likely be further expanded and prospected to offer the new model for the improvement of public education.
This study, therefore, suggests expansion of Open Autonomous School which has been operated for a year, after assessment and analysis of it.
In the conclusion, this study suggest two core settlement plan about improvement of public education; the first, is the change of recognition from the Academical Cliquism to a merit system. second, is return to the 'education for the whole man' which is a essential mission of education.
Actually, In korean society, educational background and academic cliques exercise a huge influence on people, triggering a lot of educational and social problems. this is the most primary obstacle factor for the whole society.
Therefore, any attempt on public education improvement must not stay superficial changes any longer.
The change of fundamental paradigm, that is, the change of educational-sociological recognition and the return to the essential purpose of education, is the only way we can choose and solve the crisis of the public education.
