新羅의 鄉歌와 佛經의 要義放 = A Study of Hyang-ga of Silla and the Essence of Sutras

Many approaches can be considered to be there in studying howto read and understand the Hyang-ga of Silla written in Hyangchal chracter(鄉札文學): linguistic approach, histor¬ical approach, metrical approach, religious approach, etc.
Silla Dynasty adopted Buddhism as its own religion; therefore, Buddhistic essence is found to be much contained in most of Hyangga truly representative of Silla literature: Wonhyo (元曉) and Gyun-yeo(均如)，pious Buddhists, are certainly found to be the first litrary men that established the sound foundation of Hyangga literature anpdeveloped it successfully.
Three of twenty-five pieces of Hyang-ga which have been handed down to us are selceted to be discussed as religious poems of Buddhism. It has been studiedthat such poems made their own halofrom the essential part of Sutras. Cheonsu-debiga (Cheonsu Creat Elegy: 千手大悲歌) is definitely founded to be thus greatly concerned with Bomun-sihyeon (普門示現) of Kwanoem-bosal (Merciful Buddhist Goddess:觀音菩薩) which means that Buddhist saint changes her body to reappear in the world, Won wang-sang-ga(願往生歌)，to be concerned with Guhe-ilcheo(俱會一處) of Amitahhbul(阿彌陀佛) which means that all the Buddahs of Amitahha meat together at a certain place, and Yeongje-wᄋjeokga (轰才遇賊歌) to be des cribed on the principle of Gakso-hyeonbal(覺所顯發) of the essential thoughts of Nature of Universe which means that ali the creatures in the world come from the com plete and merciful Mind of Buddha.
These facts which resulted from the tudy are sure to help us to read ans understand the Hyang-ga of silla dmore rightly and accurately.
