朝鮮中期 上流住宅의 空間構成에 관한 연구 : 星州 한개마을 寒洲宗宅을 중심으로 based on the Case of Mr. Lee's Residence at Sungjoo, Kyungsang Province = A Case study on the Spatial Organization of a Yangban House of the mid. Choson Dynasty

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is to identify the way spaces are organized in a upper class house of the mid. Choson Dynasty(1392-1910). The Objective of the study is, 1) to identify the principles and characteristics that resulted the spatial organization, and 2) to estabish proper method of analysis of the spatial organization. The study is limited to only one example of residential architecture of the mid. Choson Period, which is the house of Mr. Hae - Suk Lee at Sungjoo, Northern Kyungsang Province.
The analysis was carried out in three different aspects of spatial organization which were class-sified according to different scale of organization. These are; 1) the organization of the whole site, 2) the spatial relationship between the building and outdoor spaces, and 3) the organization of the indoor spaces. Analysis according to these three perpectivies is to clarify the way partial spatial units are integrated into the whole as well as to clarify the characteristics of the partial units themselves.
It is observed that there are principle of organization that integrates all spatial parts into one organic whole. In addition, it seems clear that such method of analysis is effective enough to identify the hidden rules of organization, and therefore, can be commonly applied in other cases of the same purpose of research.
