다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The heroic novel's readers are different from other novels' readers. They are common folk who have different cultural bases. The heroic novel takes readers' tastes into consideration causing the number of readers to increase which in turn made the novel turn into a business. Confucianists in the Jo Sun period thought the changes regarding readers' tastes to be vulgar. However it can't be argued that the heroic novel is vulgar because of those changes alone. Almost all readers of the heroic novel, the common folk, have completely different cultural bases and guidelines.
This assignment considers the causes of vulgarity in the heroic novel to be narration and recitation.
First a trend of vulgarization through the main characters in classic novels is viewed. A trend of vulgarization through the main characters in the heroic novel use structural changes to express their characters' emotions. It allows readers to become familiar with and identify with the characters in novels. Consequently if created an uproar of interest from readers.
Second a trend of vulgarization through the time of writing is considered. Heroic novels have different and lively ways to write about events rather than in a linear or enumerate fashion.
Third mediacy, which is an important feature is observed. Novels should be acceptable to readers so the mediacy of novels is observed with verisimilitude. This quality of things appearing to be true, is strengthened by the expression of subjective emotions in heroic novels instead of the maintenance of an objective distance, which enables the readers to adopt the main characters' emotions.
Fourth vulgarity by means of literary style is observed. Heroic novels move away from the Chinese literary style and the writers use live expressions and unique styles which could describe characters better. So readers could accept and identify with characters more easily.
The changes of the trend of vulgarity's narrative style to appeal to readers, have the following abilities: First the readers can identify with the characters who are normal and common in heroic novels. It then causes readers to accept overtly romantic solutions between characters very easily. Second the writers increase verisimility by expressing impassioned emotions. Third they also use active structures to hold an increase reader interest.
In summary, a trend of vulgarity was brought about by narration and mass recitation. It would be easier to understand that the trend of vulgarity is a change brought about by readers.
