The purpose of this article is to reflect the concept of Missio Dei, to analyze prevenient grace, Christian perfection, and the healing and restoration of the creation in John Wesley`s life and ministry as the main characteristics of Missio Dei, and to suggest missiological implications of those factors today. The best way to understand the concept of Missio Dei is to interpret the Bible from a missiological perspective. In other words, the meaning of the mission of God is that in the divine action God calls His people and has the covenant relationship with them and sends them into the world, and Jesus sent by the Father commissions His church as sending it to the world with the power of the Holy Spirit. For John Wesley, the slogan “The world is my parish” articulates the identity of the church and Christians who are sent by the triune God. Wesley insisted that the salvation begins with the prevenient grace, implying the march for the eternal life. And the salvation process follows both justification (justifying and converting grace) and sanctification. These process indicates the holistic dimension of the salvation. First, though the prevenient grace itself is not saving grace, the focal point of the prevenient grace is that God precedes us in Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Second, salvation in Wesleyan theology means to reach “Christian perfection,” which would be the process of maturity of Christian character. From a Missio Dei perspective, this is closely related to the holy life of the God`s people. For Wesley, salvation is understood in the relationship between God and men, between neighbors, and between men and the creation. Life and ministry of John Wesley can be seen the integration of his preaching and deed. Third, the missiological implications of John Wesley`s theology as seemingly integrating the redemption theology with the creation theology, is to emphasize both individual and relational dimension as a therapeutic model. This can make us overcome the dualistic understanding of creation and salvation and understand the holistic dimension of human relationships with other created order. Wesleyan theology brings us to think God`s salvation as healing in every dimension of human life. This is salvation as healing, one that healing can only through Jesus Christ reconciling God and others. This kind of healing can make us restore the image of God and Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
