韓國 正常 小兒의 Cellulose Acetate膜을 利用한 血淸蛋白 電氣泳動分劃에 關한 硏究 : A Study Using Microzone Electrophoresis on Cellulose Acetate = Serum Protein Values in Healthy Infants and Children in Korea

Serum protein levels were measured in 874 healthy children and infants from birth to 15 years of age. Measurements were made using microzone electrophoresis on cellulose acetate.
The following findings were noted:
1) Total serum protein levels were raised as age increased. The mean serum protein in cord blood of newborn was 5.89gm/100ml for males and 6.00gm/100ml for females. By the 7th day of life the mean increased to 6.62gm/100ml for males and 6.94gm/100ml for females. However, in early infancy from 1 to 2 months of age, the mean temporarily fell to 5.92gm/100ml for males and 6.00gm/100ml for females. Subsequently, the mean values rose to the levels found in adults. Between the ages of 4 and 6 years the mean value for males was 7.23gm/100ml and for females was 7.22gm/100ml.
2) In the newborn there was a significant decrease in cord blood serum albumin with a male mean of 3.05gm/100ml and female mean of 3.00gm/100ml. By the seventh post-natal day the serum albumin level was raised to a mean of 3.36gm/100ml for males and 3.62gm/100ml in females. Similarly to the findings for serum protein, there was a subsequent decrease in serum albumin in the infants from 1 to 2 months of age-3.31gm/100ml for males and 3.33gm/100ml for females. Thereafter, between the 9 to 11 months of age the mean was 3.67gm/100ml for males and 3.67gm/100ml for females. Between the ages of 4 and 6 years males showed a mean serum albumin level as high as 4.17gm/100ml. The highest serum albumin levels for females were found in the age from 7 to 15 years.
3) The measurement of alpha-1 globulin began at 0.28gm/100ml for males 0.29gm/100ml for females. The levels of alpha-1 globulin dropped to 0.23gm/100ml for males and 0.24gm/100ml for females in the 1 to 2 month old group. From the age of 6 months to 15 years the mean values of alpha-1 globulin showed no significant differences(P>0.05).
4) Although the mean values for alpha-2 globulin in cord blood were low-0.49gm/100ml for males and 0.50gm/100ml for females, in contrast to the finding from alpha-1 globulin, the mean levels subsequently rose beginning from the 1 to 7 th post-natal day. Maximum levels 0.87-0.91gm/100ml were reached at the age from 3 to 17 months for males and these of 0.85-0.89gm/100ml at the age from 6 to 23 months for females. Thereafter the mean values were decreased with increasing age.
5) Cord blood mean values for beta globulin were 0.75gm/100ml for newborn males and 0.76gm/100ml for newborn females. Infants showed an high in mean values of 0.91-1.00gm/100ml. During the childhood the mean value of beta globulin for males remained constant, relatively speaking.
6) Among all of serum protein studies the most striking variations related to age were found in the means for gamma globulin. At birth cord blood mean level was 1.37gm/100ml for males and 1.44gm/100ml for females. By the 1st to 7th post-natal day the mean level was 1.53-1.54gm/100ml. Lowest gamma globulin levels were found at the 1 to 2 months age-0.82gm/100ml for males and 0.94gm/100ml for females. Subsequently there was a slow rise. At the 9 to 11 months age the male mean level was 1.06gm/100ml and the female 1.01gm/100ml. Although the levels were relatively high in infancy, subsequently the mean levels became low. From 2 to 3 years for the males and from 4 to 6 years for females the level returned to those found in adults. The highest values of gamma globulin level occurred in the 12 to 15 years of age-males and the 12 to 15 years of age-females.
