互文理论视域下的理雅各与高本汉《尚书》译本比较研究 = A Comparative Study on the Renditions of Shangshu by James Legge and Bernhard Karlgren from the Perspective of Intertextuality

《尚书》是中国“政书之祖，史书之源”，具有极为重要的思想文化价值，也是最早被译介到西方的中国经典之一，其中著名的英译本即包括19世纪英国传教士汉学家理雅各与20世纪瑞典汉学家高本汉的《尚书》译本。这两种英译相隔近一个世纪，产生于不同的历史语境，两位译者所参考的互文本存在历史性差异，他们对互文本的选择、吸收及转化具有主体性差异，这些皆是这两种英译对《尚书》的诠释与传译存在差异的重要原因。从互文理论的视角对其进行比较研究，不仅可以进一步拓展《尚书》英译的研究，深入把握西方《尚书》英译的发展特征与规律，也可为中国典籍的翻译与传播、翻译教学、汉学等研究提供有益的参考与启示。

Shangshu is known as the “ancestor of political books and the source of historical books” in China, with extremely important ideological and cultural values. It is also one of the earliest Chinese classics translated by the Westerners. Since the 17th century, its translation has been popular, and famous English translations include the translations by the 19th-century British missionary Sinologist James Legge and the 20th-century Swedish sinologist Bernhard Karlgren. Due to the intertextuality of the text, examining the relevant intertextual materials referred to by James Legge and Bernhard Karlgren in the English translation process of the book reveals that the intertextual materials chosen by the two have different historical characteristics, and their absorption and transformation of intertextual materials have subjective differences. This is also one of the important reasons for their different translations and interpretations of the original text. Studying and interpreting the differences between these two English translations from the perspective of intertextual theory can not only further expand the research space of the translation of Shangshu, but also deeply grasp the development characteristics and laws of the English translation of this classic. It can also provide reference for the translation of Chinese classics, Sinology, translation teaching, and other research.
