The 21th century is in the various environment of globalization by technological development and rapid communication, fast turnover of the trend passing through ages, and an absence of mutual understanding, etc. On the other hand. people sometimes pursue the aesthetics of slowness , the will to rest, and recurrence to the past in these circumstances. In this complex surroundings, the new access method based on cultural uniqueness is needed for effective quality life and fair competition over the world. Forming a part. of this method, this study is to be focused on the Color. The color with visual appeal has been studied continuously due to instant effect with respect to communication and applied diversely to marketing, communication, and life. However, the most research archieved in Korea has been based on the research result in japan or America. We examined Korean color consciousness already on the assumption that there is a limit to utilization based on the color consciousness that has been studied in foreign countries: the reaction upon color tends to be different little by little according to social, cultural, religious and natural environment and sometimes completely contrary color image appears. The first, we examined where Korean color consciousness began and inquired into Korean color centered on Obangsaek). The second, we compared how different color they have from our country by means of the examination of foreign countrie` s color consciousness. The third. we inquired into the function as a color in communication and the utility of color marketing due to examine how Korean color could be applied to industry and life. Besides, we commented the necessity of Korean original color study and use and raised points at Korean color development citing an example of the world color marketing and Korean color marketing. According to this study, we didn` t raise an instance of concrete data of` Korean color ,but hope to say that it is meaningful that we raised the necessity to systematic study and standardization of Korean original color as a plan for the 21th centurie` s competitive industrial activity and the quality life valued on Korean emotion.
