This study reviewed the needs to create classical women's knowledge DB for 『Joseonwangjo Shillok (and its DB)』 and presented a rough outcome for the possibility of new imagination to build a classical knowledge DB. The Korean classical knowledge DB that we generally use today is a ‘medieval’ archive system or its retrospective imagination. The basic system that builds the classical knowledge built on the medieval social class and men-centered ideologies is clearly reflected in the knowledge DB. In case of the early Joseon Dynasty, the Confucian ideologies and social structures were empirically premised without clear understanding and perspective of the time and had the tendency to comprehend and evaluate the time based on the structure and frame. This was also true for the perspectives toward and studies concerning the women of early Joseon Dynasty. Saimdang, Hwan gjini, and Heo nanseolheon stood out in their times and continuously reproduced as biased and inaccurate images such as ‘the great mothers’ or the ‘victims of paternal society’. This study examined the traditional women's experiences and language based on the 『Shillok』 of early Joseon Dynasty to build a knowledge system for the classical women of early Joseon Dynasty to discuss the possibility and systemization of a knowledge DB for women. It also examined the point of imagination and practice through which the feminist perspective can contribute to the system of classical knowledge DB being built through this process. In 『Shillok』, women's names and their events and scenes are one-time episodes without continuation. Except for certain royal women, most records are less than 10 pieces of data and the events were about the related women or men, although some were related to the historical transition. Even when a certain case is considered important, it does not mean that all related people are important. So what is the possibility we can discover in 『Shillok』? Also, how much ‘individualism’ should be considered? It should be asked whether it is valid from the feminist perspective. How should the famous names of classical women be positioned in the system of knowledge of classical women? It is necessary to share the fundamental direction of knowledge design to set each name in the initial/minimum stage of overlapped directories. In other words, it is most necessary to consider the countless individuality of individuals and events that compose the minimum areas of classical knowledge DB. Considering the layers of limitations women must have experienced as the low class in the medieval feudal society, the classical knowledge DB that confines ‘them’ in the name of class or group is meaningless. Feminist perspective requires a new imagination that begins from the countless layers of directories based on the ‘minimum individual units that are low and broad.’
