반려식물 관련 신어 형성 배경과 낱말밭 구성 양상

This study focuses on the entry into the full-fledged companion plant era as one of the new normal phenomena that occurred with COVID-19, and on analyzing the aspects of new word usage through the composition of a ‘word field’ based on discussions on the social and cultural background of the formation of new words that reflect this era. To conduct this research, Chapter 2 deeply analyzed the social and cultural background that led to the emergence of new words related to companion plants, and Chapter 3 attempted to reveal the types of new words related to companion plants and the aspects of the composition of the word field.<BR/> The results of the study confirmed that ‘growing companion plants,’ which has become a new cultural trend today, can be seen as one of the new normals brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, but its driving force had already been formed more than 10 years ago.<BR/> The word field of new words related to companion plants is largely composed of five major categories, including [plant caregivers], [types and characteristics of plants], [plant-related activities], [plant target psychology], and [plant care materials and tools], when centered on nouns. It was confirmed that new words belonging to each category can be divided into several medium categories according to certain criteria. In this way, new words related to companion plants, which are being formed in a way that constitutes a variety of word fields, are contributing to the diversification of Korean vocabulary resources, which is very desirable. In addition, in terms of the method of forming new words, there are many forms that stand out with the original linguistic consciousness of the public, so it can be said that they have considerable linguistic value.
