『조야시선(朝野詩選)』의 편제와 특성 = The Style and Characteristics of Joyashiseon

Joyashiseon is an anthology of Sino-Korean poetry in public and private sectors edited by Lee Ki (李琦), a former translator in Joseon between 1920~1922. It selected a thousand poems from 233 poets who were not well known to the public between the first half of 19^th century and the late 20^th century. In a point that this Sino-Korean anthology contains a number of poems of middle class literary men who were active after Pungyosamseon (1857), and that it has a large number of works from poets who were active until the 20^th century including Yun Hee-gu, etc., it is an important material to confirm the last aspects of Sino -Korean poetry.
Lee Ki (1856~1935), the editor of Joyashiseon was a translator who passed a national examination of Sino-Korean translation, and participated in two influential poetry works in Seoul as a core member. That is to say, in Kang Wi`s Yukgyoshisa and Lee Geon-chang`s Namchonshisa, he had deeply associated with contemporary prominent poets including Kang Wi and Kim Taek-yeong, etc. since the mid 19^th century. Also, he participated in Sanbyeokshisa (珊碧詩社) which over 20 poets including Jeong Man-jo and Park Han-yeong, etc. in 1910s. Through Lee Ki`s own collection of works, Sohwagwanjip (紹華館集) newly found from the process of preparing this paper, his social intercourse patterns were confirmed.
The most notable feature in the editing formation of Joyashiseon is that there are a number of poems from his associates such as Yukgyoshisa, Namchonshisa, and Sanbyeokshisa that he directly associated with. He deliberately selected and specially stood out 10 or more poems from All including Kang Wi, Hwang Hyeon, Kim Taek-yeong, Seong Hye-yeong, Yun-hee-gu, etc. with whom Lee Ki directly associated. That is to say, for Joyashiseon, the editor, himself mainly selected those poems at the time he experienced. In other words, Joyashiseon has the character containing the contemporaneity (當代性) between the late 19<sup>th</sup> century and the early 20<sup>th</sup> century. An important characteristics of Joyashiseon is that it contains a lot of poems of poets including Kim Byeong-seon and Kim Taek-yeong, etc. that were not introduced to the established anthologies. Daedongshiseon edited by Jang Jiyeon in 1918 collected a comprehensive works of two thousands of poets at the time, but Joyashiseon collected 250 poems from 58 poets that were not included in Daedongshiseon. As it is 25% of the total Joyashiseon, it seems that the editor Lee Ki`s intended to specially stand out new poets who were not noted at the time.
