In this article, I illuminate the problems of AI translation that automatically switches to the target language, with its errors of machine translation. I also emphasize the role of professional translators who were born with the ability of the human language and the capability to correct these errors. Such thorough proofreading and the role of professional translators are indispensable for the proliferation of world literature, and will further promote mutual understanding and cooperation among people who have different cultures. However, translators seem to be in a transitory position as professional language and literature majors. With the advent of AI technology, translators are met with a situation where the basic framework of the translation seems to have changed completely, which is closely related to the understanding of Eastern and Western world literature. For a very long time, the process of transitioning from a source language to a target language has relied on authoritative translators and their translations. On the other hand, with the upcoming AI translation which reflects its great transition to the digital era, there is also considerable interest in how the machine language will influence the human language of which translation has relied only on the authoritative translators. It may seem as if the position of professional translators were in jeopardy. In the digital world of the 21st century, collaboration between humans and AI technologies, in some way, will become quite needed. I can assert that the task of a translator will be more diverse as it moves toward the new directions. The significance of this article is that it attempts to analyze and research in detail as a confirmation of this forthcoming process.
