養殖産 大蝦(Penaeus chinensis)의 生産性에 관한 연구 = Studies on the productivity of Penaeid shrimp (Penaeus chinensis) cultured under semi-intensive system

The aim of this study is to identify productivity and economical aspects of shrimp farming from a commercial penaeid shrimp farm in Korea, and to suggest alternative measures. The da- ta used for this analysis were provided by the Suehae Penaeid Shrimp Farm and enquires to the farm staff were also made to supplement the information. The Farm adopting semi-intensive farming techniques with an extensive farm can extend farming period from usual 189-190 days to 200-210 days or early harvest can be achieved, which will be more beneficial economically than the previous period offers.
The low productivity, 1,310㎏.?? seems to be caused by mainly low stocking density, 1l individuals. ??. The feed conversion rate seems also very low; 9.5㎏ of feeds were fed to make 1㎏ of shrimp at the harvest time and this will make the farm very difficult compete with other commercial shrimp farms abroad in near future. The rate of daily body weight increase, 1.3%was far behind from those achieved in Chinese commercial shrimp farms. The rate fluctuates through out the farming period and there was no tendency of rapid increases in early months. Average wet weight of individual at the harvest was 23.3g and based on this weight, survival rate of the population was only 49.3%.
The result indicates that the extensive farm has its limit in production and for further productivity, even though it employs intensive system in terms of feeds. For commercial production, the farm should be converted either into semi-intensive system or intensive system. To compete with Chinese farms, it is desired to put efforts into researches on the shrimp, management techniques of farm, and specially development of feeds.
