可山 李孝石의 作品硏究 : 傾向性의 發展樣相과 그 實體 The form of development of the tendency (kyung-hyang-seong) and its substance = The Study of Works Written by Lee Hyo-Seok (Ga-San)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This report is written about the step of development of the tendency and its substance through the works written by Ga-san from 1925 to 1931.
In 1925 and 1926 the short story writers found out the vices of the society in those days and reaffirmed them to the readers. But those short novels were written not judging from the point of the mechanical re-enactment of passiveness but from the mutability and repulsion.
In 1927 there would be seen a word 'idealogy' in the work written by Ga-san. He transformed the abstract word 'idealogy' into concret image. At this point, I made an effort to inquire into the substance so-called 'the substance of tendency' which was touched off by this 'idealogy' through the movement motives and structure unfolded by leading members in the novels. That was the exit of 'power to live' mentioned by Park-young-hee, and had the movement towards the supplementary axis at the fault of axle of the actual, that is to say; the ways of expression of social movement called the motive power of historic development. In particular the structure is an example of the evidence about the absoluteness of thought. At this point we can see with our own eyes the transformation of sacredness. It might be a reward of the special feeling of uneasiness and loss during the unusual days of losing national prestige. Therefore Ga-san's features as a member of fellow-traveller writers become different not suddenly but gradually by walking several steps of his own literary ways of response.
According to the work, "the Dream" which broke the depression of colonization, Ga-san could be a firm member of fellow-travellers. The novel was born by Marxism stood out in the thought of salvation at that time. And some readers possessed the thought of the work which had the historical meaning at the point of searching for the way of our future. That was the dream of the public. As a matter of fact, Ga-san had many faults as a member of the tendency and did not activites positively as a fellow-travellers.
His works are not the bleaching of 'the soul smeared with blood of proletarian literature' but the beautiful bourgeois one. Although the public dream formed by Ga-san's works may be written mechanically, we cannot assert positively them to be disguished.
There would be no works and spirit like 'the Dram' under the colonial government if he headed for the future under the uncertainy as if his works were like that, and if the trend intoxicated the whole parts of that society by professing the anti-imperialism and anti-colonialism.
