대학의 성인학습자 교육 활성화 방안에 대한 고찰 = A Study on the Revitalization of Adult Learner Education in Universities

· Research topics: This study seeks ways to revitalize the education of adult learners in universities and aims to secure the sustainability of university education through re-education for the middle-aged.
· Research background: The importance of lifelong learning is emphasized with the transition to a knowledge-based society in the 21st century. In particular, as the school-age population decreases due to changes in the demographic structure, the need for adult learner education is emerging for the sustainability of universities. Accordingly, universities need to develop new educational measures to meet the needs of adult learners and promote their participation in learning.
· Differences from prior research: Existing studies have mainly focused on adult learners' learning motivation or obstacles. However, this study proposes a comprehensive strategy for revitalizing adult learners' education at the university level. In particular, it comprehensively deals with a customized curriculum reflecting the characteristics of adult learners, improved access to learning, and flexible academic management measures and attempts an integrated approach to supporting adult learners at the institutional level of universities.
· Research method: This study suggested specific measures for revitalizing adult learners' education through case analysis of the university's adult learner education program and literature research. In addition, policy alternatives were derived by analyzing the educational demand of adult learners according to changes in the demographic structure.
· Research results: To promote adult learners' participation in learning, universities should expand the flexibility of lecture time and process and provide learning counseling and career development services. In addition, it was concluded that the credit recognition policy should be clarified and economic support should be strengthened to increase the accessibility of adult learners to learning.
· Contribution points and expected effects: This study contributed to securing university sustainability by suggesting customized educational measures for adult learners and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and universities. Through this, adult learners are expected to expand their participation in learning, improve competitiveness in the labor market, and accelerate the transition to a lifelong learning society.
