『官許 仏和辭典』과 Nouveau Dictionnaire Francais-Japonais 비교 고찰: 역어가 증가한 경우를 중심으로 = A Comparative Study on the Kankyo-futsuwajiten and Nouveau Dictionnaire Francais-Japonais: Focusing on the Case of Increased Translation

국문 초록 (Abstract)

『官許 仏和辭典』과 Nouveau Dictionnaire Francais-Japonais 비교 고찰: 역어가 증가한 경우를 중심으로

연구 목적: 본 연구에서는 『官許 仏和辞典』과 후속하는 Nouveau Dictionnaire Francais- Japonais의 상호 관련성에 대하여 역어 수가 증가한 경우를 중심으로 비교 고찰하였다.
연구 방법: ①, ②사전 사이에 역어가 증가한 경우에 한정하여 고찰을 진행하였으며, 증가 유형을 3가지로 나누고 유형별 의미나 배경에 대하여 살펴보았다. 조사함에 있어 당시 대역사전이나 현대 대역사전을 적절히 활용하였다.
연구 내용: 먼저 ①사전의 역어를 그대로 수용하면서 새 역어를 추가한 경우이다. 이는 ①과 ②역어의 공존을 의미하는 것으로 총 63개의 용례가 발견된다. 다음은 ②사전에서 새 역어를 선두에 위치시키고 ①의 역어를 뒤에 배치한 경우이다. 예를 들어 Avant-garde의 경우 ①에서 ‘前軍’을 대응시키고 있으나 ②에서는 ‘前軍’ 앞에 ‘前衛’라는 새로운 역어를 배치시킨다. 즉 ①의 시기에 ‘前軍’이 시도되었으나 ②의 시기부터는 ‘前衛’가 우세를 점해간 것으로 보이며, 이에 따라 역어의 위치를 변경할 필요성이 대두된 것으로 보인다. 마지막으로 ①사전의 역어가 모두 삭제되고 ②에서 신역어가 채택된 경우도 있다.
결론 및 제언: 본 연구에서 살펴본, Abouchement에 대응된 ‘集議’라는 역어의 소멸, Appelant에 대응된 ‘訴人’의 ‘控訴人’으로의 변경, 그리고 ‘Artillerie의 ‘大礟’가 ‘大砲’로 변경된 점 등은 대역사전을 통하여 당시의 시대상을 엿볼 수 있는 대목이다.

A Comparative Study on the Kankyo-futsuwajiten and Nouveau Dictionnaire Francais-Japonais: Focusing on the Case of Increased Translation

Abstract: In this paper, the correlation between the Kankyo-futsuwajiten and the subsequent Nouveau Dictionnaire Francais-Japonais was considered, focusing on the case where the number of inverse words increased, and the summary is as follows. There are three types of increase, and first, it is the case of adding a new translation while accepting the translation of the dictionary as it is. This means the coexistence of ① and ② translations, and a total of 63 usage cases are found, which can be divided into cases where the new translation in ② has been connected to a subsequent dictionary and cases where it has not. Of these, only 8 words were followed by a subsequent dictionary. In other words, it shows that the influence of the new translation in ② on the subsequent dictionary is insignificant. The following is the case in which a new idiom is placed at the beginning of the dictionary and the idiom of ① is placed after it. For example, in the case of Avant-garde, ① responds to ‘former military’, but in ② a new idiom ‘former military’ is placed before ‘former military’. In other words, ‘former military’ was attempted during the period of ①, but ‘前衛’ seems to have taken the lead from the period of ②, and accordingly, the need to change the position of the idiom seems to have emerged. Finally, it is the case that all the transverse words of the dictionary are deleted and a new transverse word is adopted in ②. For example, the disappearance of the transverse word ‘集議’ corresponding to Abouchement, the change of ‘訴人’ corresponding to Appelant to ‘控訴人’, and the change of Artillerie’s ‘大礟’ to ‘大砲’ are points that give a glimpse of the times of the time through the band dictionary.
