중국인 학습자를 위한 한국어 음식 관련 관용표현 교육 방안 연구 -‘떡’을 중심으로- = A Study on the Teaching of Korean Food-Related Idiomatic Expressions for Chinese Learners -Focusing on ‘tteok’-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to improve Chinese learners' communication skills in Korean and deepen their understanding of Korean culture by selecting high-frequency food-related idiomatic expressions, systematically classifying them into stages, and proposing effective teaching methods that integrate language and culture. Through this, foreign learners can not only develop their Korean communication skills but also deeply understand Korean culture.
Korean food-related idiomatic expressions are frequently used in daily life by Koreans as they vividly convey the speaker's intentions. If foreign learners fail to properly grasp these idiomatic expressions, it becomes difficult to achieve smooth communication. Furthermore, such idiomatic expressions encapsulate aspects of Korean history, culture, climate, lifestyle, and ways of thinking, enabling learners to gain insight into Korean culture through their study. Therefore, it is essential to provide education on food-related idiomatic expressions to foreign learners.
However, these idioms are not merely literal combinations of words but carry new meanings, making them difficult for learners to understand and express without prior study. Moreover, food-related idioms reflect unique cultural elements of Korea, which is why it is necessary to teach Chinese learners these idiomatic expressions not only for communication but also for cultural understanding.
This study is significant in that it selects a list of high-frequency Korean tteok-related idiomatic expressions based on Korean language educational materials and spoken corpora, explores teaching methods utilizing integrated language and culture learning, and verifies their effectiveness statistically. It has been proven that through a comparative integration of Korean and Chinese language and culture, Chinese learners can effectively acquire not only Korean food-related idiomatic expressions but also Korean communication skills and cultural understanding. Future research is expected to examine the usage patterns of Korean food-related idiomatic expressions found in spoken and written corpora, focusing on various food themes, and select a list of food-related idiomatic expressions for Korean language education. Additionally, it aims to propose teaching methods that integrate language and culture for learners of various language backgrounds, and to apply and verify these methods with diverse learners.
