도로 터널 갱구부 입면 디자인의 표현 특성에 관한 연구 = Correlative Study on Performance Characteristics of Facade Design at the Entrance of Road Tunnel

(Background and Purpose) In the past, landscape design at the entrance of a tunnel was conducted with the aim of saving money, shortening the construction period and enhancing functionality. It was therefore primarily concerned with vegetation management, thus making it difficult to harmonize the entrance with the surrounding natural environment. With the acceleration of the process of modern urbanization, and with the improvement of urbanization and informatization, tunnel landscape design has been endowed with new value, and has formed a new spatial form in the process of urban informatization. This has had significant influence on the design of public cultural images and on the improvement and development of the urban environment. The design at the entrance of tunnel should correspond to the broader region’s natural environment, its history and culture, and its local customs and practices so as to achieve a greater unity between the functionality and aesthetics of the tunnel. Recently, diversified landscape designs at the entrances of tunnels have drawn people’s attention. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to study the visual performance characteristics observed at the entrance of the road tunnel. The user’s perceptual stimulation and satisfaction is useful when applying future design improvement to the entrance of tunnel. (Method) The design method is based on landscape design relative to the entrance of tunnels and users’ shared responses to the perceptual stimulation are then studied. As for recent design trends in the entrance of tunnel, the concept of the entrance is theoretically explored, its visual design elements extracted in detail, and the user’s evaluation comprehensively analyzed. (Results) The case analysis results show that the fa□ade design at the entrance of the environmental tunnel was highly evaluated in terms of continuity and coordination, but that it could be further improved in terms of stability and comfort. The fa□ade design at the entrance of the regional tunnel was highly evaluated in terms of safety and coordination, but when the surrounding scenery suddenly appears to contain harsh objects or colors, the driver will encounter a sense of abruptness. The fa□ade design at the entrance of an aesthetic tunnel was more highly evaluated in terms of comfort and continuity, but there is still room for improvement in terms of safety and coordination. (Conclusions) Through the theoretical exploration and evaluation of the fa□ade design at the entrance of the improved environmental tunnel, we will exert its effects on the basis of guaranteeing its functions. We look forward to meeting the expectations of users, and providing endless development possibilities for the fa□ade design of different roads and tunnels.
