A healthy dancing education is important not only for a Communal life in the modern society, but also for a sound development of personality of college students who have a kean interests in the culture and art.
The opportunity for the dancing education which enables the people to adjust to the active and creative living environment should be open to everyone. With the views above mentioned, the following are the results of a comparative analvsis between the successful future dancing programs in the university.
1. The dancing education in the Korean universities is mostry offered to the fenail students majoring in dancing, but in the American universities is offered with a wide rastge of variation and is open to any student interested in the program.
2. The dancing education for the general students in some of the Korean universities is conducted through the general physical training program.
3. The dancing curriculum with a wide range of variety offered to the students interested in the program in the American universities is conducted effectively on the basis of the individual talent, but in the Korean universities is offered on the prosessional basis regardless of the students individual talent. This impairs the motivation of the students for the program.
4. In most of the universities in the untied states, the urge for accomplishment is abhanced through the individual exhibition after the attendance of a certain period of the dancing composition program, In the Korean universities, the education of the practical dancing skill and the creative dancing are taught only to the students of the department of dancing and the department of physical education, and the public performance are limitted to these students.
5. The dancing curriculum in the Korean universities put more emphasis on theory than skill as it is in the universities in America.
In canclution, the following: are recommendaced for the advancement of the dancing education in the Korean universities.
First, reprograming of dancing education for the physical training in the universities with the open and variant programs.
Second, inclusion of dancing program in the general college physical education program followed by recognition of efficiency of the dancing education in the university physical education.
Third, the educational objective of the departments of physical science and dancing should not be limitted to traning the teachers, instead the curriculum of the such departments should be reorganized with a wide range of variety to accomodate nonmajor students.
Fourth, unlike high school students, the dancing education of the college students should be conducted according to the individual interest and skill for the utmost fulfillment of one's desire and ability.
Fifth, the development of diverse dancing programs for the college students.
Sixth, invitation of highly skilled instructors to promote active and open instruction in the university.
