The purpose of this study is to present a synthesized and generalized model by integrating ecological system model with triadic reciprocity one how factors recognized by individual in the micro-system such as school culture and peer relationships play roles when individual social-emotional competence influences peer harassment defending behavior. Indeed, it is validated using a multi-group analysis of MASEM(Meta-Analytic Structural Equation Modeling) utilizing data from elementary and secondary schools using the theory of triadic reciprocity as the theoretical model. To do this, 68 domestic articles are chosen which have correlation coefficients about defending behavior and related variables for the elementary and secondary students from 2009 to June, 2021. After proving homogeneity by utilizing the correlation coefficients between the six sub-factors as the effect size, the fixed random effect model was used to create the pooled correlation matrix, and the model's direct and indirect effects were assessed. At this time, if zero was not included from the confidence interval, the result was deemed significant. In addition, the structural path was analyzed with the model using a pooled correlation matrix, which was produced based on the correlation coefficients among six sub factors via a random effect model. As a result, the direct effect of defending behavior was in a descending order of the school culture and the social-emotional competence. In addition, the most influential component on school culture was the peer relationship aspect (anti-bullying climate). The social-emotional competence component was the second most influential, and was the last element in terms of demonstrating the effect size. The following routes have substantial mediating effects at both the elementary and secondary school levels. The school culture factor had a significant positive mediating effect between the defending behavior and the social-emotional competence, implying students with high social-emotional competence recognize the school culture as non-violent, and thus are more likely to demonstrate their defending behavior naturally. Additionally, the school culture factor has the same positive significant mediating effect between peer relationship and defending behavior, which indicates students who perceived a positive connection with their peers tend to recognize the school culture as non-violent and thus are predicted to increase the frequency of defending behavior. Additionally, the peer relationship showed a significant effect between the social-emotional competence and the defending behavior indicating that students with high social-emotional competence are more likely to get along with their peers for themselves and it leads to connect recognition of the anti-bullying school culture. Lastly, the peer relationship and school culture showed a significant effect between the social-emotional competence and the defending behavior. In other words, it means that students with a high level of social-emotional competence tend to demonstrate a high level of likability and popularity and receive more support from their peers. This may cause the students to actively show defending behavior when they are bullied because they interpret the school culture as anti-bullying. Finally, the peer relationship and school culture factors mediated the association between social-emotional competence and defending behavior in a substantial manner. In elementary school, only the route whereby social emotional competence leads to defending behavior via school culture and the path whereby peer interactions lead to defensive behavior through school culture were established. It was found that perceiving a nonviolent school culture in elementary school is a crucial step in inducing defending behaviors. The aim of this study was to fill the gap in research regarding the recent rise in anti-bullying incidents in schools by employing the analysis of MASEM, which had never been used before in a study of defending behavior, and by examining complicated and broad hypothetical theories of social-emotional competence, peer relationship, school culture, and defending behavior. This study's "synthetic model" not only suggests that a school culture that discourages bullying is important for a person's social-emotional skills and how they act when they feel threatened but also finds out the implications by comparing models of the elementary and secondary school and then analyzing the differences at the school level.
