Ⅰ. Preface

The formation of market resulted from the structure of economy involving the exchange from productive economy to consumption economy have been considered as a necessary condition of daily life and there is need for the medium capable of buying the necessaries of life.
At this reason large scale store like the department store have been appeared and this means of life is inseparably related to our life recently.
According to this realities of the department store, all sorts of the point at architectural issue investigated and analyzed in the aspect of building involving the structure of architecture and condition of location must have been surveyed and researched in order to manage in harmony.

Ⅱ. A general conception and the characteristic of Department store.

Department store is the largest shop which is managed synthetically by a form of enterprise which classyfy divide int. section for the forms of management.
It deals many kinds of goods centeving around the things of daily necessity partly and pursue the selling promotion, the unprovement of service to rationalize the operation and finance.

Ⅲ. The content of research on actual condition.

A) The objects of investigation.
The object of this investigation surveyed 7 numbers of Department store(Mitopa, Shinsegye, Cosmos, Koreana, Shinseng, Shin-shin, Daewang Corner) in Seoul and Shinsegye in Taegu.
B) The Subject of Investigation.
The subject of this investigation surveged applied to building department store with a stand point of seven factor following
a) a site of department store.
b) Development process of department store.
c) The main features of department store.
d) The proportion of partial area to the whole area.
d) The numbers of showcase.
f) The dimensions between the pillars.
g) The Composition of the store.

Ⅳ. Tde point at issue anh the improvement of department store.

From the result of analyzing the actual research, it was suggested the following the point at issue and the improvement plan.
a) The area of maketion section occupies the great part of the area of architecture.
b) The monotony of the right angle formed arrangement of Showcase and difficulty of the regulation of width of pathway.
c) In order to correct the unpleasantness of a buyer, it is need for direct management as far as possible.
d) The betterment of welfare facilities of employee
e) Disperson from recent situation to suburbs
f) Setting up the department store like that in Seoul
g) Resting place capable of holding a buyer in custody
h) The improvement of service in order to rationalize the management of department store.

Ⅴ. Conclusion

As mentioned above.
However there are bring up a problem of the realities which cover a wide range of subjects, it seems that this issue will be solved in a day from a stand point of our economic growth.
It remains the point at issure which will be formed faithfully Department store how to render service natioal life.
