국제주의 건축 표피에서 나타난 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 특성 연구 -국제회의(C.I.A.M) 참여 건축가 4인 건축 작품을 중심으로- = A Study on the Morphological Characteristics of Euclidean Geometry shown in the Surface of Internationalist Architecture -Focusing on the Architectural Works of Four Architects Participating in the International Conference (C.I.A.M.)-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

(연구배경 및 목적) 본 연구논문은 건축물의 첫인상인 외부 표피를 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 분석관점에서 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 배경은 국제주의 건축의 성격과 의의를 통하여 건축의 역사적 배경을 살펴보고, 건축의 표피 개념을 통하여 건축 외부의 의의를 알아본다. 또한, 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 분석 방법을 통하여 국제주의 건축 표피에서 나타난 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 특성을 밝히는 것이 목적이다. (연구방법) 제 1장에서는 본 논문의 연구의 배경과 목적 및 범위와 방법을 서술한다. 제 2장에서는 국제주의 건축의 표피와 유클리드 기하학의 배경, 개념을 분류하여 정립한다. 제 3장에서는 국제주의 건축의 표피와 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 특성의 분류 및 기준을 도출한다. 제 4장에서는 국제주의 건축 표피에서 나타나는 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 특성을 근대건축 국제회의 참여 건축가 4인 작품의 사례분석을 통하여 그 특성을 도출한다. 제 5장에서는 결론으로 본 연구의 도출된 분석내용을 정리하여 서술하고, 현대의 건축 표피에서 나타나는 유클리드 기하학의 형태적 특성에 관한 연구 방법을 제시하는 것으로 본 연구를 마친다. (결과) 국제주의 건축 표피에서 나타난 기하학적 공간은 정형적 공간, 상징적 공간, 연속적 공간으로 대칭, 균형, 조화, 비례, 반복, 신축, 이동을 통해 나타난다. 정형적 공간은 균형적 공간의 구조를 가지고, 형태적으로 규칙적 질서로 나타나며, 이러한 공간은 건축의 입면은 질서적, 규칙적 구성으로 정형적 사각의 그리드로 구성된다. 상징적 공간은 형태적 반복이나 형태적 연상으로 나타난다. 형태적 통일성, 생략성은 단순한 형태의 특성으로 나타나며, 이러한, 기하학 도형의 반복성은 형태적 상징화로 나타나 건물의 상징적 이미지를 결정한다. 연속적 공간은 형태적 확장화로 나타나며, 형태적 이동과 변화를 통하여 건축의 입면 형태가 연속적으로 지각된다. 본 연구는 국제주의 건축 입면, 표피의 형태적 특성을 기하학의 특성을 통하여 알아보았다. (결론) 본 연구는 건축 표피라는 새로운 대상 분석을 통하여, 또 다른, 공간분석 방법을 제시하였으며, 국제주의 건축의 기하학적 형태적 특성을 파악하는 분석논문 틀을 제시하였다. 앞으로, 본 연구를 기초로 하여 국제주의 건축 표피에서 나타나는 유클리드 기하학의 조형적 특성이 본질적 공간 개념으로 발전되길 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

(Background and Purpose) The purpose of this research paper is to analyze the external skin, which is the first impression of a building, from the morphological analysis perspective of Euclidean geometry. The background of the study is to examine the historical background of architecture through the nature and significance of internationalist architecture and to investigate the significance of the exterior of architecture through the concept of the skin of architecture. In addition, the purpose is to reveal the morphological characteristics of Euclidean geometry that appear on the surface of internationalist architecture through the morphological analysis method of Euclidean geometry. (Method) Chapter 1 describes the background, purpose, scope, and methods of this paper's research. Chapter 2 classifies and establishes the surface of internationalist architecture and the background and concepts of Euclidean geometry. Chapter 3 derives the classification and standards of the surface of internationalist architecture and the morphological characteristics of Euclidean geometry. In Chapter 4, the morphological characteristics of Euclidean geometry that appear on the surface of internationalist architecture are derived through case analysis of the works of four architects participating in the International Conference on Modern Architecture. Chapter 5 concludes this study by summarizing and describing the analysis results of this study and presenting research methods on the morphological characteristics of Euclidean geometry that appear in modern architectural surfaces. (Results) The geometric space that appears on the surface of internationalist architecture is formal space, symbolic space, and continuous space, and appears through symmetry, balance, harmony, proportion, repetition, expansion, and movement. Formal space has a balanced space structure and appears in a morphologically regular order, and the façade of this space is composed of a grid of formal squares with an orderly and regular composition. Symbolic space appears through morphological repetition or morphological associations. Formal unity and omission appear as characteristics of simple shapes, and the repetition of geometric shapes appears as formal symbolization and determines the symbolic image of the building. Continuous space appears as a morphological expansion, and the elevation form of the building is perceived continuously through morphological movement and change. This study investigated the morphological characteristics of the façade and skin of internationalist architecture through geometric characteristics. (Conclusions) This study presented another spatial analysis method through the analysis of a new object called architectural skin and presented an analysis paper framework to understand the geometric and morphological characteristics of internationalist architecture. In the future, based on this study, we hope that the formative characteristics of Euclidean geometry that appear on the surface of internationalist architecture will be developed into an essential spatial concept.
