고교학점제에 따른 학생들의 진로 탐색 및 학교 생활 지원을 위한 서비스 방향성 제안 = Proposed Service Directions for Students' Career Exploration and School Life Support under the High School Credit System

Background : Adolescence is a crucial period of self-identity formation and career exploration, but many adolescents are in a hurry to get into college and are unable to think about their careers. In response, the Ministry of Education plans to introduce a high school credit system to help students choose subjects that suit their aptitude and interests and take the lead in exploring their careers. This study aims to propose service ideas that can maximize these policy effects and further help teenagers explore easy and convenient career paths.
Methods :This study was conducted using the double diamond design process, a design thinking theory. The opinions of parties and stakeholders were collected through surveys and in-depth interviews to discover the problem, and the data were classified into affinity diagrams to draw insights for defining the problem. To develop a service concept and ideas, we set up two personas, and finally, in the Deliver phase, detailed functions of the service that can achieve the main goals are presented in the form of prototype according to the service direction.
Results : The study found that high school students had difficulties in exploring their aptitudes and obtaining information, and for students in schools with a high school credit system, the process of choosing classes that fit to each career path even became pressure. Based on these findings, we proposed service features that include functions such as class information pages, career columns of experts, career type tests, and anonymous communities for each school to support students in their overall school life and to help them proactively explore their aptitude/career.
Conclusion : Many Korean high school students are in an overheated environment that focuses on entering university rather than exploring their aptitudes/careers, and this study proposes a new way to solve this problem, the effective implementation of the high school credit system, to ensure an environment for proactive aptitude/career exploration. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development of various services for the direction of education and aptitude/career support of high school youth in the future.
