淸暑益氣湯이 白鼠 損傷肝의 回復에 미치는 影響 = Effects of Cheongseoikgitang on the Recovery of Damaged Liver in Rat

This experiments were performed to confirm the protective effect of Cheongseoikgitang on the carbon tetrachloride induced hepatotoxicity in rats. The effect were chemically examined by AST, ALT, ALP, LDH, total cholesteral, protein, triglyceride level in the serum. The experimental groups were divided into five groups, normal group with no treatment, control group treated with CCl₄and physiological saline, EG I treated with CCl₄and CIT extract 1㎖/㎏/day, EG II treated with CCl₄and CIT extract 5㎖/㎏/day, EG III treated with CIT extract 10㎖/㎏/day.
The following results were obtained:
1. The serum AST level of all experimental groups decreased from the 3rd day after CCl₄administration and showed the significant level at the 7th day.
2. The serum ALT level of all experimental groups showed the highest activity at 12 hours and then decreased by slow degrees, but maintained higher level than that of normal group.
3. The ALP level of EG I, II, III showed the highest level at 12 hours and then significantly decreased after the 1st day.
4. The serum LDH level showed the highest level at the 1st day in EG I, II and 12 hours in EG III. From the 3rd day the level of EG I, II, III showed the significant decrease in comparison with that of control group.
5. The serum total protein level of EG III showed the normal findings during all experimental days.
6. The serum total cholesterol level of EG III showed the significant decrease at the 1st and 5th day in comparison with control group and the normal findings at 7th day.
7. The serum triglyceride level of EG I at the 5th day and EG II, III at the 2nd day showed the normal findings.
From these results, it is suggested that CIT extract has considerable effects to the hepatic injury by CCl₄treatment and so this prescription is able to reduce the recovering period of damaged liver.
