번안 과정에 나타나는『장한몽』의 양가성 연구 : 모방의 주체인 매개자를 중심으로 Focused on the Interpreter as the Subject of the Mimicry = A Study on the Ambivalence of 『Janghanmong』in the Process of the Translation

This paper is a study on the ambivalence of 『Janghanmong』, written by Cho, Il-jae. Especially, this paper is focusing Cho, Il-jae as an interpreter. Cho, Il-jae was an writer, simultaneously an interpreter. He translated many novels that were scripts by the drama, so called, Shinpa-guk in Japan. Accordingly some kinds of difference and identification are intervened in these works. This paper pays attention to post-colonialism caused by the process of the translation.
『Janghanmong』, connotes two discourses in this position compared with as the original, 『Gu˘msaekyacmha』, written by Ozaki Koyo. First, it consciously spreads a colonial discourse that intends to announce modem civilization of Japan and integrate the society of the colony. The colonial discourse is represented as an emphasis of Japanese civilization and Korean Confucianism-obedience to own country, parents, and husband in 『Janghanmong』, Of course, it includes unconsciously Cho, Il-jae's aspiration about modem society of Japan. On the other hand, 『Janghanmong』, shows the discourse of modem woman involuntarily, Even though Cho, Il-jae tried to transform such discourse into the image of an chaste woman by the colonial discourse,『 Janghanmong』 has already been propagating the sound of modern woman.
Consequently such as discourse of modern woman influenced to a lot of women lived in the society of the colony. Post-colonialism in 1910's is revealed by showing a affirmation to the discourse of modern woman. Such position is appeared in the middle of the process that translated from Ozaki Kayo's 『Giimsaekyacha』 to Cho, Il-jae's 『Janghanmong』, and from 『Janghanmong』 to『Sok- Janghanmong』, Finally in the middle of such as process, the discourse of Japanese modern woman transformed a propensity of 'Hybridity' in the real society of the colonized country, Chosun and was born for new form. The ambivalence of 『Janghanmong』 was created the act of the mimicry, which operated as a post-colonial opportunity. We must not ignore the worth of 『Janghanmong』 which affected modem women newly increasing of Chosun.
