대학 교양중국어 학습자의 학습동기 및 태도의 변화(2010∼2024) - J대학의 사례를 중심으로 - = Changes in Learning Motivation and Attitude of Liberal Arts Chinese Learners(2010-2024) - Based on the Case of J University -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중국어 교육환경의 변화에 따라 2010∼2024년 기간 동안 대학 교양중국어 학습자의 속성, 학습동기, 그리고 학습태도 및 학습만족도에 어떠한 변화가 나타나고 있는지 확인해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 J 대학의 교양 중국어 수업을 연구대상으로 설정하고, 2010년 자료는 김은희(2010)의 연구에서 사용된 교양중국어 수강생 126명의 설문자료, 그리고 2024년 자료는 같은 대학 교양중국어 수강생 99명을 대상으로 새로 수집한 설문자료를 수집하여 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같이 정리될 수 있다.
첫째, 2010년 교양중국어 개설과목 수, 분반 수, 수강생 수를 2024년의 그것과 비교해 본 결과, 개설과목 수, 분반 수, 수강생 수 모두 대폭 줄어든 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 교양중국어 학습자들의 개인적 속성으로, 우선 학년별로는 1학년 수강생의 비중이 크게 증가하고, 대신 2∼3학년 학습자의 비중이 크게 감소 하였다. 이수형태와 관련해서는 중국어를 주전공 혹은 복수(부)전공으로 하고 있는 학생이 아닌 단순교양으로 이수하고 있는 학생들의 비중이 증가하 였다. 또한 교양중국어 학습자들의 중국 및 중국어에 대한 사전 접촉경험이 크게 감소했다.
셋째, 교양중국어 학습자들의 중국어 학습동기, 학습태도, 학습만족도의 변화를 살펴본 결과, 학습동기 측면에서 통합적 동기와 도구적 동기는 큰 폭으로 하락한 반면, 소극적 동기는 오히려 상승한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 학습동기의 부정적인 변화는 교양중국어 학습태도 및 학습만족도에도 그대로 반영되어, 학습태도와 학습만족도 모두 크게 하락한 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Chinese language education environment is deteriorating significantly in Korea. This is due to the deterioration of Sino-Korea relations, the US policy of isolating China, and the stagnation of the Chinese economy. The recent development of AI technology is also playing a role. This study investigated what changes were occurring in the attributes, learning motivation, learning attitude, and learning satisfaction of liberal arts Chinese learners during the period 2010-2024.
To this end, this study set liberal arts Chinese classes at J University as the subject of the study. And the year 2010 data were collected survey data of 126 liberal arts Chinese students used in Kim(2010), and 2024 data were newly collected through the questionnaire survey data for 99 liberal arts Chinese students at the same university.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows.
First, in relation to the operation of liberal arts Chinese classes, the number of courses opened, divided classes, and students in 2010 were compared with that in 2024. As a result, it was found that the number of courses opened, divided classes, and students all decreased significantly during the period 2010-2024 .
Second, regarding the personal attributes of liberal arts Chinese learners, first of all, the proportion of first-year students increased significantly during the period 2010 to 2024, and instead, the proportion of second to third-year learners decreased significantly. Regarding the form of Chinese credits, the proportion of students who are learning Chinese as a simple liberal arts, not as a major or double(or minor) major, has increased. In addition, liberal arts Chinese learners’ prior contact experience with Chinese and Chinese language has significantly decreased.
Third, the changes in Chinese learning motivation, learning attitude, and learning satisfaction of liberal arts Chinese learners during the period 2010-2024 were examined. As a result, it was found that in terms of learning motivation, integrated motivation and instrumental motivation declined significantly, while the passive motivation increased. These negative changes in terms of learning motivation were also reflected in the liberal arts Chinese learning attitude and learning satisfaction, indicating that both learning attitude and learning satisfaction declined significantly during the same period.
