한국과 미국의 영아와 유아의 과학교육과정의 내용 분석을 통한 교육적 시사점 = Analysis of the Contents of Science Education Curriculum for Infant and Toddler and Young Children in Korea and America

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to provide basic materials for contents and details of science education curriculum for infants & toddler and young children for both infants aged 0∼2 and young children aged 3∼4/5 based on the content standards of science education in Korea and seventeen states of America. The results of this were as follows. First, the section titles and contents of the science contents for infants and toddlers aged from 0 to 2 years old and children from 3 to 4/5 years old represented same compositions. Second, the detailed contents of science for infants and toddler aged from 0 to 2 years old in Korea included no physics.; however, seven states in America included details in cognitive developments and ten states included scientific thinking, life science, earth science, space science, and ecology. Third, the contents and details in science education for young children aged form 3 to 4/5 years old in both Korea and seventeen states of America represented scientific contents in which Korea showed no details in physics science but America showed a balance in this area. The educational message of this were as follows. First, it was necessary to fully investigate whether the composition of the contents of science education for infants and toddler aged from 0 to 2 years and children from 3 to 4/5 years old. Second, the composition of the contents of science education for infants and toddler aged from 0 to 2 years and children from 3 to 4/5 years old was to be properly developed based on the content standards of science education. Third, the contents of the science education for infants and toddler aged from 0 to 2 years and children from 3 to 4/5 years old properly included ecology that reflects the point of sustainable education stressed by UNESCO.
