These technological advancements hold significant potential to improve our lives substantially.
However, the development of AI technology also brings various ethical, social, and legal challenges. Issues such as privacy invasion, bias, accountability, and safety are potential negative impacts of AI technology. Particularly, AI systems that collect and analyze large amounts of data have the potential to infringe on individual privacy, and the risk of making biased decisions due to flawed data learning exists. This can lead to social inequality and discrimination, necessitating appropriate regulations to address these issues.
The ambiguity in accountability is also a crucial concern. Determining who is responsible for damages caused by AI system malfunctions or errors remains unclear. In cases like autonomous vehicle accidents or medical AI misdiagnoses, legal disputes can arise when accountability is not well-defined.
