국문 초록 (Abstract)

1980년대 초중반 미·소의 핵군비 경쟁의 확대에 따라 세계적으로 반전·반핵의 목소리가 확대되던 무렵, 츠카 코우헤이가 『히로시마에 원폭을 떨어뜨리는 날』(1986)을 출간했다. 이 소설은 일제 말기 태평양전쟁 무렵의 시간적 배경과 히로시마와 미국을 주된 공간적 배경으로 역사적으로 실존했던 일본과 미국의 전쟁을 일부 변형한 가상의 핵전쟁 서사이다. 그런데 이 소설은 일본과 미국의 태평양전쟁을 다루기 때문에 독자인 일본인의 이해관계와 결부될 수밖에 없다. 히로시마 원폭 투하와 같은 민감한 사건이 소설의 핵심 사건이고 작품이 일본에서 출간되어 독자가 기본적으로 일본인이기 때문에 이 작품은 일본 국민의 국민감정을 지나치게 자극해서도 안 되는 난제를 품고 있다. 그러면서도 반전·반핵의 서사가 되기 위해서는 전쟁을 일으킨 오판이 비판되어야 한다. 그런데 패전국의 오판은 상대적으로 승전국의 군사력의 우위를 강조하는 역설적 효과를 낳는다. 그래서 제국주의 전쟁을 비판하는 이 작품이 오히려 1980년대 독자에게 원자폭탄의 위력과 비대칭전략무기로서 원자폭탄의 필요성을 환기하는 면도 있다. 이것이 미·일 전쟁을 다룬 이 작품이 지닌 딜레마이다. 또한 이 작품은 반전·반핵의 서사에 재일조선인의 서사를 결부지으면서 ‘재일조선인의 인정 욕망과 일본인 되기’가 상대적으로 부각되면서 애국주의가 일부 긍정되고 반전·반핵의 메시지가 일부 약화되는 한계가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Around the time when the voice of anti-war and anti-nuclear was expanding worldwide due to the expansion of nuclear arms competition between the U.S. and the Soviet Union in the early and mid-1980s, Kohei Tsuka published On the Day of the Atomic Bomb Drop in Hiroshima in 1986. This novel is a fictional nuclear war narrative that partially transformed the historically existing wars between Japan and the U.S., with the Pacific War at the end of Japanese imperialism and Hiroshima and the U.S. as the main spatial background. However, since this novel deals with the Pacific War between Japan and the United States, it is bound to be linked to the concern of readers, the Japanese. Since sensitive historical events such as the Hiroshima atomic bombing are a key event in the novel and the work is published in Japan and readers are basically Japanese, this work has a difficulty that should not excessively stimulate national sentiment of the Japanese. Nevertheless, the misjudgment that caused the war must be criticized in order to become a narrative of anti-war and anti-nuclear. However, the misjudgment of the defeated country has a paradoxical effect that relatively emphasizes the superiority of the military power of the victorious country. Therefore, this work, which criticizes the imperialist war, rather reminds readers of the power of atomic bombs and the need for atomic bombs as strategic weapons in the 1980s. This is the dilemma of this work dealing with the US-Japan war. In addition, this work connects the narrative of Koreans in Japan to the narrative of anti-war and anti-nuclear, and as the 'desire for recognition of Koreans in Japan and becoming Japanese' are relatively highlighted, patriotism is partially affirmed, and the message of anti-war and anti-nuclear is partially weakened.
