ASF발생에 따른 농장단위 예방 및 대응모델 개선방안 연구

This study aims to establish strategies of Gyeonggi-do in prevention of farm level and improvement of response model by African swine fever(ASF) occurance. Since African swine fever was introduced into Korea in September 2019, the disease has spread through Gyeonggi-do, drastically changing the livestock industry environment.
ASF introduction has critical implications for the affected farm, and it puts the Gyeonggi-do at risk of ASF. Since September 2019, when the ASF confirmed in the Paju for the first time, 14 pig farms found infected. No further swine farms have been found infected since November 2019.
Korea have been successfully controlled on swine farms, but wild boar are being found to be positive for the ASF. The wild boar were found mostly on the Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do district. Therefore, we need to making efforts to prepare a possible outberaks of ASF on swine farms. The ASF situation in Korea poses a sustained risk of ASF access into the North Gyeonggi-do, especially via routes that are complicated to control, such as wild boar movements, contaminated vehicles or other fomites.
ASF is a highly contagious viral disease that currently has no vaccine or effective treatment. Without specific treatment available, guidelines for the control of the ASF are essential. policy directions are as follows. First, it is necessary to construct wildlife prevention facilities and establish infrastructure to minimize cross-contamination. Second, Developing field inspection techniques and establishing an early detection system by preventive measures centered on veterinarians. Third, Strengthening education for farmers and practitioners is necessary to sufficient understanding of the prevention of ASF. Fourth, it is crucial that control begins on spread of ASF by infected wild boars. And, it is key to explore ways to build a quarantine system with the Gyeonggi-do, central government, local government more closely for the inter-Korean border areas.
