This article is organized to analyze the nomination process of Meritorious subjects recorded in the Bunmu-nokhun-togam-ŭigwe(奮武錄勳都監儀軌) and to review the political meaning of that time period. After the Musin revolt broke out in the 4th year of King Yeongjo’s reign (1728), Oh Myung-hang and other Soron faction's subjects directly suppressed it, and Lee Kwang-jwa from the government led the suppression. In the process of discussing the merit after suppressing the rebellion, Soron faction's subjects expressed modesty and tried to ensure their position in the government from King Yeongjo. King Yeongjo also emphasized the importance of Tangpyeong, emphasizing that the cause of the rebellion was in the struggle of the political faction, and tried to preserve the Soron forces in the government after the suppression of the rebellion. This had the effect of solidifying the position of the subjects who supported the Tangpyeong policy. Later, King Yeongjo showed an attitude to highlight subjects who supported Tangpyeong, as known as Tangpyeongpa [Party of Tangpyeong], in the process of selecting Bunmu Meritorious subjects and conducting ceremonial events. Since the scale of the rebellion was nationwide, there were people who made various contributions in the process of suppressing it. However, only 15 people were selected as Bunmu Meritorious subjects according to King Yeongjo's will that he did not want to select too many Meritorious subjects. Among the 15 Meritorious subjects, a number of subjects who supported Tangpyeong policy were included, who were practical contributors to the suppression and on the other hand implied the symbolic direction of King Yeongjo's political management.
