숙종대 保社功臣의 錄勳과 정치적 의미 －『保社錄勳都監儀軌』를 중심으로－ = The Conferment of Bosa Meritorious Subject during the reign of King Sukjong and Political meaning －Focusing on Uigwe(Ritual Manual) for the Conferment of Bosa Meritorious Subject－

In 1680, the political upheaval occurred due to the rebellion of Heo Gyeon (許堅) and Bok Seon-gun(福善君). At this time, King Sukjong conferred those who suppressed the rebellion. The name of the Conferment is Bosa Meritorious Subject(保社功臣). The Uigwe for the Conferment of Bosa Meritorious Subject(保社錄勳都監儀軌) compiled in 1682 contains detailed records of the meritorious service process of the meritorious Subject at that time. Therefore, in this paper, the reorganization of political power in the early days of King Sukjong was reviewed using this Uigwe, and the political meaning of Bosa Meritorious Subject and the Uigwe was considered.
King Sukjong actively led the conferment. Through this, he conferred Kim Seok-joo(金錫胄), other chucksins(戚臣), and they related people. King Sukjong also promoted Meritorious Subjects' Pledge Rituals(功臣會盟祭) quickly. It seems that King Sukjong is trying to protect Kim Seok-joo and make it clear the reorganization of the power structure. Moreover, Meritorious Subjects' Pledge Rituals, which can reveal the faith and loyalty between the king and vassal, has the effect of establishing and recognizing hierarchical order under the king. Therefore, it is judged that King Sukjong took advantage of it.
After that, King Sukjong additionally conferred six people related to chucksin, including Shin Beom-hwa(申範華). Although not only the Daegan(臺諫) and Seungji(承旨), but also the Daesin(大臣) strongly prevented the additionally conferment, King Sukjong pushed ahead with the addition with the support of Kim Seok-joo.
After the completion of the additional conferment of the Meritorious Subject, King Sukjong tried to clarify the dispute between loyalty and rebellion by compiling Uigwe and secure the justification for the reorganization of power. This Uigwe contains political implications for forming and commemorating official memories rather than for reference to future events.
