특집: 테크놀로지와 주거의 인문학 : 공간화의 새로운 모색 -Portable Architecture를 중심으로- = A New Search for Spatialization -With Focus on Portable Architecture-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

테크놀로지의 발달로 전통적인 공간과 거리의 개념이 해체되고 거주공간의 내부와 외부의 경계가 사라지면서 현대인들은 기존의 정주적 가치체계와 코드에서 벗어나 새로운 노마드의 생활태도는 물론 사유방식을 영위하게 되었다. 이에 우리는 탈형이상학적 사유 속에서 공간과 영토의 개념을 어떻게 파악할 수 있는가에 대한 물음을 던짐과 동시에 구체적인 분석 대상으로서 Portable Architecture 콘텐츠와 프로젝트를 고찰하려한다. 이를 위해 하이데거(Heidegger)와 들뢰즈(Deleuze)의 공간 및 영토화운동의 개념을 이해하려한다. 하이데거에 의하면 현존재(dasein)로서의 실존적 인간은 고립적 폐쇄성과 배타성보다는 가까움과 친근성을 실천하면서 존재하는 것이며, 그의 공간에 대한 사유는 공간과 관계하는 의미생성가치에 중점을 두는 방향으로 전개된다. 한편, 들뢰즈에게 영토화운동은 단순히 주거의 문제로 그치지 않는다. 인간의 정신적 행위와 예술적행위와도 같은 하나의 생성적 사건이며, 니체(Nietzsche)가 말하는 영원회귀와도 같은 반복의 생성이자 창조다. 이는 하이데거의 방식으로 말한다면 현존재는 공간과의 친근성을 체현하는 것이며, 자연과 생명에게 사이를 열고 소통을 실천하려는 운동에 다름 아니다. 여기서 들뢰즈가 파악하려는 생성과 창조의 에너지가 영원히 솟아나는 것이다. 즉, 들뢰즈는 유목성이 지닌 낭만적 생활세계의 공간화 운동을 하이데거의 사유 속에서 이상적으로 그리워했다기보다는 유목성이 출몰하는 지점에서 강렬하게 나타나는 존재의 잠재적 힘을 서술하려 했다고 보여 진다. 이에 대한 구체적인 분석과 적용을 위해 우리는 Portable Architecture콘텐츠들과 프로젝트들에 대한 고찰을 시도하려는 것이다. Portable Architecture를 실용적인 차원에서 성공 여부를 따지거나, 경제적 셈법을 앞세워 평가하거나 하는 일 보다는 앞으로 과학기술을 비롯한 기후변화, 에너지, 환경등의 다양한 조건 안에서 현존재가 실존적 삶을 어떻게 꾸려나가고 어떻게 공간과 관계망을 형성해야하는지에 대한 부분에 주목하는 일이 더욱 중요할 것이다. 다시 말해, 도시 공간의 급격한 변동을 체험하는 실존적개체들이 어떻게 다중적 정체성의 형성하고 또 그것과 어떠한 상호작용을 하며 진화하고 있는지 살펴보려는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As the contemporary people’s way of life is changing flexibly and rapidly with the development of technology, residential space of today has come to show a nomadic characteristic that is diverse and variable. The extinction of traditional space and streets has also dismantled a boundary between the interior and the exterior of residential space. Contemporary people, therefore, came to have a new nomadic way of thinking based on a nomadic lifestyle, free from the time-honored sedentary value systems and codes. This study, therefore, has raised a question of how we can figure out the concept of space and territory with the post-metaphysical thinking and then has chosen the contents and projects of Portable Architecture as the concrete target of analysis. In order to carry out the project, we will borrow not only an idea of Heidegger who explained the concept of space and things but also Deleuze’s idea of deterritorialization and reterritorialization. According to Heidegger, an existential man as dasein exists by experiencing proximity and familiarity rather than isolated closeness and exclusiveness and his idea of space is made with much focus on generating a meaning related to space. Meanwhile, settling the division of territory and constructing houses do not just boil down to the element of residence for Deleuze. According to Deleuze, they are the generative events like the mental activities or artistic activities of human beings on one hand and the generation and creation of recurrence like the case of “eternal return” mentioned by Nietzsche on the other. Therefore, we have to focus on the difference and the generation manifested in building, constructing, erecting, disconnecting, lowering, rearranging and moving houses, and rebuilding them after picking out a new location. In Heidegger’s concept, dasein personifies familiarity with space with difficulty and develops into a movement of opening a door to nature and life and of communicating with them. This is a realm where the energy of generation and creation - mentioned by Deleuze - is sprouting endlessly. Therefore, it is thought that Deleuze intended to explain the potential power of existence that is expressed powerfully at a point where a nomadic character emerges rather than idealistically yearning for the movement of spatialization in the romantic life of nomadism by borrowing the thoughts of Heidegger. This study has attempted to make a philosophical investigation over the contents and projects of Portable Architecture that can clearly show the nomadic character - in order to develop the philosophical thinking into a critical philosophical movement that can help resolve real issues rather than letting it remain merely in a movement of abstract ideas. It will be more important to examine how Portable Architecture can help dasein to lead an existential life under the diverse conditions of not only science and technology but also climate change, energy, and environment and to form a network with space, rather than assessing the outcome of Portable Architecture in terms of practical dimension or economic profit. In other words, this study aims to figure out how the existential beings who are experiencing the rapid changes of urban space form multiple identities, interact with it, and adapt to changes in their environment.
