영화로 서사되는 임시정부와 의열투쟁 －영화 <아나키스트>･<암살>을 중심으로－ = The narrative of vehement struggle against Japanese colonialism and the Korean Provisional Government in a film

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국 영화에서 독립운동과 친일은 대중성을 담보하는 서사로서 활용되고있다. 그러나 여러 영화에서 서사화된 독립운동은 단선적이며, ‘영화적 선택’ 에 의한 비사실을 재현하고 있다. 영화가 임시정부와 의열투쟁을 재현하는방식에서도 일관되게 나타난다. 많은 영화에서 중국 상하이는 임시정부를 상징하는 곳이자 친일이 교차하는 회색지대로 그려지며, 경성은 식민자본도시이자, 독립운동의 최전선으로 그려지고 있다. 경성과 상하이에서 일반적인사람들의 삶을 거의 그려지지 않은채, ‘격동의 공간’으로만 서사화된다. 한편역사 속 인물은 누구나 예측할 수 있지만, 사실상 특정하지 않는 이들로 연출된 채, 대중의 호기심을 자극한다. 인물에 집중되는 많은 ‘설’들은 영화의유명세에 기여할지 모르나, 대중의 질문에 맞닥트려야 하는 ‘역사 전공자’들의 부담은 가중된다. 그만큼 역사 영화의 사실성은 모호해지고, ‘영화적 선택’은 자유로워지고 있다.
역사 영화를 둘러싼 논쟁은 반복적이지만, 사실 단선적이다. 창작의 자유와 연출의 현실, 대중적 성과를 중시하는 영화계에서의 평가는 역사적 사실을 중시하는 역사학계의 그것과 거리가 있다. 역사 고증과 대중화 사이에서의 길항관계는 앞으로 어떻게 될 것인가. 역사 영화에서 ‘영화적 구현’의 창의성과 현재적 해설을 어느 정도 열어두더라도, 연구를 통해 발굴되고 복원되며 고증되어 가는 ‘史實’과의 정합성, 시대정신과 공공의식에서 부응하는 ‘敍事’의 적정성이 담보되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The narrative of the independence movement, which is simplified in movies, is becoming more and more common with its location. As a stage appearing in the movie, Shanghai is symbolized as a place that symbolizes the provisional government and a representative gray area. On the other hand, Gyeongseong is a colonial capital city and is depicted as the forefront of the independence movement. In Gyeongseong and Shanghai, the lives of ordinary people are rarely depicted, and they are narrated only as 'turbulent spaces'.
On the one hand, anyone can predict the characters in history, but they are actually directed as non-specific people. As such, the reality of historical movies is becoming ambiguous and 'movie choices' are becoming free.
The debate over historical films is repetitive but in fact straightforward. There is a clear distinction between the reality of freedom of creation and directing, the evaluation in the film world that values popular performance, and the evaluation in the history world that values historical facts. What will happen to the antagonistic relationship between historical evidence and popularization in the future? In fact, amid the increasing trend of choosing cinematic directing rather than actualization, real people and historical facts are dealt with as subjects. Even if the creativity and present commentary of 'film realization' in historical films are left open to some ex tent, the consistency with the 'Fact of history' that is discovered, restored, and proven through research, and the appropriateness of the Narrative that responds to the spirit of the times and public consciousness should be guaranteed.
