중등미술교육에서 프랙탈 패턴(Fractal Pattern)을 활용한 팝업카드 제작지도 연구 = Research of teaching guidance for art curriculum on Popup Card producing with Fractal Pattern at secondary education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research is for giving new conception and formativeness, through utilizing Fractal pattern to popup card producing at art class. Therefore, it promotes creative thinking and expressions ? which is the core of art education ? to learners. Working to teaching learning scenario, for extending learner’s thinking skills and convergence, on popup card production process adding formativeness of Fractal pattern.
Fractal had conceptualized by Benoit B. Mandelbrot on 1975. He proposed Fractal as a new tool for construing nature. Currently, Fractal is extensively researched / utilized as the language of predicting human life. Fractal is a shape made up of parts that are same shape as itself and are of smaller and smaller sizes. The chaos theory ? which is base of Fractal - improves, the nature seemed to be chaotic but it has its own rules. Fractal is the new formative language and structure for reading nature.
Researching details as follows, First, for general understanding Fractal, narrating its notion and attribute, and introducing representative scientists who had been developing Fractal theory. Second, examine educational necessity of popup card producing utilizing Fractal pattern through precedents and formativeness of Fractal, and discuss about popup card producing & characteristic of expression. Third, making lay out of popup card class and teaching learning scenario which are applied Fractal pattern, and look up each of learner works which had applied former method.
The class had proceeded twice. Learners had watched the cases of Fractal via pictures and image materials, and let themselves to observe Fractal’s characteristic. Then, for seeking apposite to subject materials, let them to discuss Fractal’s characteristic and formativeness though presentation and questions, and teaching self-initiated expressions. Let them to express Fractal formativeness ?i.e. self-similarity, repetition, reiteration, distortion, etc. - freely with pattern. 2D pattern had convert to 3D Sierpi?ski triangle solid card for Fractal formativeness unity.
During cutting the works with scissors, the learners are immersed and concentrated their attention on it, and it gives tensions and achievements to learners. Meanwhile, painting and making activities are in complementary relationship, and the learners could be having degree of completion and satisfaction. When finishing the works, they can watch or arrange each other works, discuss each other, and have unit activities.
The learner who is not even unconcerned with art, during producing popup card with Fractal pattern, could be familiarize him/herself with new theory at conception process, and it could raise effect of art education as the case which applying scientific theory to daily life. Producing popup card with Fractal pattern can experience make 2D/3D works, expand learner’s thoughts, and attract their creative expressions by understanding Minorities of fractal dimension.
Consequently, it can put experiences, expression and feelings of art class together, and can give internal and external experience to learner. Learner could find their ideas/thoughts internally, and could promote visual/tactile sense externally. Not only former mentions, but also learner could carry out creative activity of expression, during class, with mathematical/artistic thoughts.
