1970년대 서사시의 전통 양식 수용과 변용 -김지하, 서정주, 신경림의 시를 중심으로 = A study on Acception and Transformation of traditional genre -Focused on Epic Poems of 1970s

This study focuses on Seo Jeong-Joo``s 『Jilmajae Myth』, Kim Jiha``s 『Five Thieves』, Shin Kyung Rim``s 『Sae-Jae』 all of which are epic poems of 1970s, and figuring out their characteristics and aspects of acception and transformation of traditional genre. These works have things in common in that they use forms of epic poems and apply traditional literature style. By basing on the social and political situations at the status quo, this study would figure out how these poems were written in order to find out the periodic breakthrough from old literature style which contains ethnic tradition, figure out the narrative oriented tendency, and study how the process has been made. This study is aimed at figuring out the differences between method of the era we are focusing on and the method of accepting traditional style of the former era, and find out the attempts and results of the works mentioned above which tried to escape from existing Western literature type and find out the possibility of new literature types of their own. For this, we would figure out the similarities and differences by searching for factors of accepting the traditional style within the works, and focus more on the differences. The works dealt in this study have not only accepted traditional literature styles such as Pansori, folk songs, folk paintings, fables and succeeded them, but also used, consciously changed and perceived the styles deliberately by the authors; we would like to study on the new results these works have created. In particular, these works are the ones that could be judged as showing the possibility of self-generating avant-guard and postmodernism, since they have tried expansion of mixed imitation, parody, mix of genre, all of which show aspects of postmodernism, and tried to reach the point in which escape from modernistic aspect, in the 1970s. This study will focus deeply on these points, and figure out how the poets`` attempt after writing the works mentioned above affected other poets. From this, a suggestive meaning can be given once again by pointing out how these works, which have attempted to perform creative communication between tradition and modern era, have widened the possibility of literature.
