The ultimate goal of education is considered as the study of humanistic nature, the humanity.
Strictly speaking humanism has a lot of hindrances including individual elements. According to the factor analysis about it, especially the cultural factor occurs by the distortion of intrinsic culture and misinterpretation of the imported culture.
It is undoultedly an utmost task in the Process of long human history that man loves and respects each other Educational mission is to cultivate and breed the standard of value that man should respect and should be respected in the Philosophical Point of view. The fact mentioned above is an evidence to tell man from animals.
If man loses a value as complex body consisted of body and spirit, it frill be the loss of human conscience. In particular Confucius normal Philosophy finally enlighted man's lofty conscience and Socrates and Platen's moral philosophy are based on idealistic conscience but Platen emphasized that the natural manifestation of conscience comes from idea natural condition. Therefore we will see that he didn't ignore the natural condition. Today we understand that idea doesn't mean recollection of the past but the Pursuit of future and human efforts. What is the differences between idealism and neoidealism? Man has an idea that is trying to search for goodness, that is, conscience
and at the same time has the desire(need) to keep self-preservation and preservation of
the spices.
It is very important that idea and nature harmonize with each other but it is very difficult to do so. In other words man should give up the natural factor because it allows man to go wrong. If man holds the original desire(need), he will not line a satis factory and ideal life. Therefore it is the ancient idealists keypoint in the philosophy of education that man must root out human desire. Platen insisted in his book that he took the gold mean to explain nature and idea. Idea and nature have a contradictory concept each other. Such a fact has been remained as a controversial issue for a long period of time in the past but the effort to unify nature and idea had to meet difficult situation and many problems as well in spite of the rationalization of religionists and the moralists. Because man is the mental and Physical being he can't line without the natural desire. Therefore education should make an effort for the control of desire. I mentioned not only the the natural desire for self preservation and preservation of the spicies but also the universal truth of heaven. After all idea and nature are required the harmony each other but it is not simple thing. Platon was an idealist but he thought that reality is very important in Politia. In a Japanese folk tale written by rinomia, he quoted an example of a water wheel. He stressed the coordination of idea and nature(golden mean). The interpretation of the golden mean is the same in the east and west.
Man needs "logos" that can control the Prejudice and harmony of idea and nature in the golden mean education. The desire(need) must work in accordance with the command of logos to judge good and evil. If nature is hull, idea is eidos. When idea and nature harmonize with each other well, it becomes the golden mean. If man uses the golden mean well enough it becomes moral and expression of conscience. Therefore the role of education is to develop conscience and to plant the value of its philosophical concept to man.
In conclusion, we reexamines the educational misunderstanding raised by monism of individuality and we are trying to search for a new direction the standard of value too.
We are also attempting to develop education of the golden mean philosophically that controls idea and nature.
