특수학교 학생의 여가실태에 관한 연구 : 춘천시 소재학교의 겨울방학동안을 중심으로 = (A) Study on the Leisure Situation of Special School Students

This study are 1) to survey and analyse the leisure situation of students of special schools(element, middle, high) during winter vacation, 2) investigate the leisure consciousness of students of special school, 3) find out the variables related to the leisure of students in special school, 4) analyse and compare the thoughts to the leisure of students in special school
The study was carried out through literature review and survey method. Literature review was done by reviewing the available literature related to the leisure and special school. Survey was carried out through indirective interview methods by researcher or teacher of special school.
Data were collected by 212 students who are at special school in Chon Chun area. 212 questionnires were analysed for the study. The statistical techniques used for the study were frequency, percentile, T-test, ANOVA and chi-square. The statistical significance was tested at .05 level
The major findings from this study are as follows;
First, it is indicated that most students attending a special school tend to show the passive attitude, with watching TV at home or enjoying the spare time by oneself, and idle away it with the limited repertoires of leisure activities.
By taking the fullest advantage of their leisure time and leisure activities, which are not required of much intelligence, it is necessary to reinforce the learning process, which is the systematic and well-planed leisure education and centered at the local community, to enable them to experience self-esteem and self-confidence. And their community must provide administrative and financial support in a bid to acquire a variety of convenience facilities accessible by students with disabilities.
Second, it its shown that students with disabilities tend to limitedly use their computer for Internet communication and gaming, and especially, in terms of computer use duration, mentally retarded students duration was significantly shorter than that of other disabilities
It indicates that there is an absolute need for the information technical education to enhance their computer competency coupled with the need for the information communication ethics education in the school.
Third, it is thought that the students with disabilities have high desires for leisure activities through their positive response toward leisure activities. Therefore in order to take advantage of leisure time in the more creative and desirable way, it is necessary to provide a wide diversity of leisure programs taking into consideration of the preference, cost, movement, life age, integrated environment, and teach how to enjoy free time for participating in the leisure activities associated with educational curriculum.
Fourthly, leisure activities must be designed in an integrated way that school, family, and society can collaborate all together, and it must enable them to participate in the individualized program and general activities with general people through the systematic and continuous leisure activities.
Finally, in order to help students with disabilities be assimilated into the society, the community must establish the supporting network amongst home, school, and society after searching for and exploring the community leisure resources coupled with expanding the capacity of the leisure facility for students with disabilities from the facilities for the normal people.
