Paul Ricoeur의 해석이론에 비추어 본 설교학적 함의

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 프랑스 철학자 Paul Ricoeur의 해석 이론에 비추어 설교 학적 함의를 구성하고자 한다. Ricoeur의 해석 이론은 텍스트에 대한 역사성과 의미의 즉각성에 대한 단정을 너머 본문의 역사적 맥락과 독 자의 만남을 촉진할 수 있는 가능성을 열어준다. 이런 Ricoeur의 해석 학적 고찰은 보다 비평적이고 복잡한 세계관을 가진 오늘날의 현대 독 자들에게 적절한 해석학적 대안으로 기능할 수 있다. 본문에 대한 이런 해석학적 접근은 본문의 일차적인 의미에 대하여 지나치게 강조하는 것으로부터 벗어나 성경의 넘쳐나는 의미에 관한 탐험을 추구함으로써 텍스트에 대한 개인적 재-경험의 가능성을 높여준다. Ricoeur는 본문 의 의미를 탐구하는 과정에서 독자로 하여금 이해에서 설명으로, 다시 설명에서 전유(appropriation)로 이동하는 설명과 이해 사이의 변증법 적 움직임을 알 수 있기를 제안한다. 독자는 본문에 대한 설명이나 비 평적 물음을 통해서 본문이 열어주는 새로운 의미를 획득하게 된다. 독 자로서 설교자는 본문이 열어주는 세계에 참여함으로써 본문에 의해 열려진 세계 내에서 새로운 존재 방식을 얻게 된다. 필자는 Ricoeur의 해석학적 통찰을 분석하여 독자로서 설교자가 성서 해석 방법에 적용 할 수 있는 실제적인 설교학적 함의의 여섯 가지 특징을 명확히 하고자 한다. 끝으로 본 논문은 텍스트가 열어주는 새로운 의미와 지시들의 총 체를 통해 독자로서 설교자에게 새로운 존재 방식을 가능하게 하는 변 혁적 성경 읽기의 가능성을 소개한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper seeks to construct homiletical discourse in light of French philosopher Paul Ricoeur’s interpretive theory of the text. Ricoeur’s interpretive method goes beyond the affirmation of the historicity and immediacy of the text and opens up the possibility of facilitating the reader’s experiential encounter with the historical context of the text. Ricoeur’s hermeneutical insights can serve as an appropriate hermeneutical alternative for today’s modern readers with a more critical and less simplistic worldview. This hermeneutical approach to the text increases the possibility of a personal re-experience of the text by moving away from an emphasis on the immediate meaning of the text and pursuing exploration of the overflowing meaning of the biblical text. Ricoeur proposes employing a dialectical movement between explanation and understanding in which the reader moves from understanding to explanation and then from explanation to appropriation in the process of exploring the meaning of the text. Through explanation or critical inquiry about the text, the reader acquires new meanings that the text opens up. The preacher, as reader, gains a new way of being within the world opened up by the text by participating in the world it refers to. By analyzing Ricoeur’s hermeneutical insights, the author seeks to clarify six characteristics of homiletical discourse that preachers as readers can apply to their method of interpreting the biblical text. Lastly, this paper introduces the possibility of a transformative reading of the Bible that enables a new mode of being for the preacher as a reader through the totality of new sense and reference projected by the text.
