漢文短篇의 硏究에 대한 小攷〔Ⅰ〕 = A Study on the Researches of the Short Stories Written in Classical Chinese〔Ⅰ〕

It is some ten years since《The Collection of the Short Stories Written in Classical Chinese of the Yi Dynasty(李朝漢文短篇集)》 was published. These works are abundant in quantity and are very colorful and interesting with the phases of the Chosen Dynasty Later Period(朝鮮朝後期). The works have been studied and discussed widely because they have not only the popular vivid activities but also literary values.
A study on 《The Collection of the Short Stories Written in Classical of the Yi Dynasty》 includes at first the bookreviews, the review of the courses of formation of these short stories, and the 30 pieces of the essays on the oruginals, the authors and their works.
The summary of the result in these studies is as follows:
1) The publishing of 《The Collection of the Short Stories Written in Classical Chinese of the Yi Dynasty》 recovered the vital position of the korean literary inheritances, because their hoarded materials, which have been regarded as old stories, were discovered and introduced. Therefore, it occurred that the history of Chosen Dynasty Later Period Stories should be rewritten correctly.
2) The story-tellers(講談師) appeared in the historical changeful area of the chosen Dynasty Later Period and told the phases of the contemporary period and the popular vivid activities. Their stories were drawn down in Classical Chinese by those who learned Classical Chinese by those who learned Classical Chinese. To sum up, the original facts ?? Storises ?? Short Stories Written in Classical Chinese(근원사실 ?? 이야기 ?? 한문단편), these courses were formed.
3) A study on the originals about these short stories belongs to 《Dong-Ya0Huy-Chib(東野彙輯)》, 《Cheong-Gu-Ya-Dam(靑邱野談)》, 《Sab-Gyo-Man-Rog(삽교만록)》, etc. and it belongs to 'Lee Won Myeong(李源命)', 'An Suk Kyung(安錫敬)' and etc., there 'Pak ji Won(朴趾源)' by excavating 'Lee Ok(李鈺)' and 'An Suk Kyung' who are the authors of Short Stories Written in Classical Chinese. This paved the way for revising the history of Chosen Dynasty's Literature that are absolutely for 'Yeon Am's Short Stories(燕岩小說)'.
4) The review on the works of these short stories is explained in detail in the artical (Ⅱ). To sum up, the study on these short stories should be done separately rather than in group from now on.
5) These short stories belonged to the literary genre made up in the particular way and in the particular times, and therefore the term should be in common use as 「The Short Stories Written in Classical Chinese(한문단편)」. In order to reconstiude the whole process of development in korean literature, it is very significant to dbserve the aspect the all the literary genres and mades in chosen Dynasty Later Period differentiated and developed. Therefore, these short stories get a very meaningful position in the History of korean Literature.
The study on those short stories gets a foundation and suggests a rough research direction, but it is thought elementary. These short stories are thought to include a lot of problems of digging and reviewing them in detail, considering a variety of situation, interior or exterior.
