청소년기 여성의 분노표현 및 해결방법에 관한 질적 연구 = A Qualitative Study on the Expression and Relief of Anger by Female Adolescents

This study is an attemt to develop a qualitative grounded theory on the expression and relief of anger by female adolescents and thus contribute to the nursing of anger.
Toward this end 3 juniors of girls' high school were interviewed, the outcome of which was analyzed in accordance with Strauss and Corbin(1990)'s inductive methodology of grounded theory.
The analysis revealed a core category the process of perceiving and relieving anger. Other categories revealed in the in-depth analysis of the interviews included, quarrel, silence pretended indifference and displacement.
The following statement which came out of the analysis were inspected in accordance with the principles of Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory.
1. The expression of anger to the members of the opposite sex tends to be non-verbal and indirect while the expression of anger to those of the same sex was found to be verbal and direct.
2. The expression of anger to the unfriendly people tends to be non-verbal and indirect, wheras the expression of anger to those on friendly terms tends to be verbal and direct.
3. The expression of anger to that with greater authority tends to be non-verbal and indirect, which the expression of anger to those with lesser authority tends to be verbal and direct.
4. The more verbal, the more direct and the more immediate the expression of anger is, the more effectively the anger is relieved. By contrast, the more non-verbal the more indirect and delayed is the expression of anger, the less effectively the anger is relieved.
This study is significant in the area of nursing as well ; it will, among other things, contribute to the understanding of the perception and relier of anger by women in the context of Korean culture.
Thus far nursing research has tried to identify the causes of anger develop the strategies for nursing intervention.
This study has another step to develop grounded theory on the perception and relief of anger, which will, hopefully, help open a wider perspective on the understanding of women's anger. This study also revealed the need for the further development of theory on anger women are bound to experience in the process of life.
